Yes! This place will be on repeat!! Just stumbled upon this place on King Street, and boy am I glad we did! After hanging out in old town, Alexandria and walking around touring shops, we were starving. Most of the restaurants were crowded with long waits, but Emmy Squared seemed to have had plenty of tables and seats. Not to mention the bar was open and no one was there as well. I was beginning to think this was a bad sign and a red flag, but it was explained later to me that they get a large number of takeout orders instead of folks eating inside on some night. Good this for us because….At first, we started to walk away, but I am so glad we did not. We enjoyed a relaxing time at the bar over several drinks that were on point …:.and strong might I add. Also, we ordered several pizzas to go. The vibe and atmosphere was very laid back, casual and nontouristy or crowded. Just like I like it and something that you will find rare in this section of Old Town Alexandria due to the tourist crowds. This made for an enjoyable experience as well. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Both the drinks and food delicious! The pizza is hands down one of the best in this area of VA and I would even go as far to say…. The DMV! Hour ago items came out in no time and due to the smells and warmth of the pizza box, I must say I couldn’t resist. I dive in on a couple of slices of pizza at the bar and was blown away! The pizza crust had this crispy, chewy buttery edges that were to die for, and the toppings (including the meats and veggies) were plentiful. To top things off I asked for extra sauce and the cook did not disappoint. There was sauce and cheese everywhere…. And, oh so good. The portion was more than enough to enjoy while in the restaurant and there was plenty to take home. Everything about the visit was awesome and a great experience. I plan to definitely come back when in the part of Old Town Alexandria again and again and again!!

Synopsis: Average small overpriced pizza. Went to Emmy’s because of multiple news articles claiming it’s the best Pizza in the DMV. The positives: okay bartender & good atmosphere. The negatives: The food. The food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced. I would absolutely completely stay away from the mozzarella classic pizza. That was terrible. It was burnt and had absolutely no tomato sauce. Some parts didn’t even have cheese. Most uneven pizza with ingredients ever made. So the classic is garbage and everything should stay away. Keep in mind that starts at 16$. I will say it seems like the more ingredients you get the more the pizza tastes slightly better. The second pizza was a pepperoni, sausage pizza. This runs you 3$ PER toping. Total was 22$. This pizza was a bit better. I feel like the cheese still lacked but there was plenty of sauce and taste was average. An average small pizza should not cost 22$. I also got a skinny margarita and a coconut drink. The drinks had a good taste BUT were in small cups. Drinks are always going to be expensive where ever you go so I will not hold them on this. The negatives are the sizes, absolutely tiny cups. When news articles and people are staying this pizza is the best, it better hold up to local restaurants. Specifically using Ledo pizza as a comparison. The total at Emmy’s came out to be 87$ with Tip. Do you know how much pizza and drinks that can get you at a Ledo Pizza that’s a sit down??? A LOT more. This pizza also doesn’t come close to the taste of Ledo. At the end of the day, it’s on the strip, it will have guest and traction for this reason but I doubt I will be back again. The service was okay. Bartenders had a lot of his plate. Be sure to get a reservation if you’re going as a family. Seems like they are reservation first, I luckily got a bar seat. Due to my experience I think 3 stars is a fair rating. Thank you for your time.

Title: An Upscale Disappointment Unfortunately, there was very little to rave about at this restaurant. The lack of attention to detail from the waiter/bartender was glaring from the start. For example, on a simple to-go order, I paid for an entire bottle of sparkling water. Rather than providing the full bottle or dividing it into multiple take-away containers, he poured part of it over ice into one cup, left the remainder in the refrigerator, and still charged me for the entire bottle. And it only went downhill from there. We ordered two burgers to go, each of which included waffle fries. When we finally opened our containers during our riverboat cruise, we discovered that the two meals together contained a grand total of seven waffle fries—yes, seven—for two adults. In short, we paid $50 for two hamburgers, seven fries, and one-quarter of a bottle of water. The manager never reviewed the to-go order, and we didn’t realize how poor the service was until we were already on board and unable to address it. While the restaurant has strong reviews and the burgers themselves were decent, the overall experience was as disappointing as meeting a beautiful person with poor hygiene: the presentation may look appealing, but the substance fails completely

My Friend T who has been to the DC location recommended that we get some dinner and drinks at Emmy Squared in Alexandria which is closer to home, so we made reservations for Friday July 2nd @6pm. We arrived and were greeted nicely and seated quickly. We ordered some drinks to start and it came within a few minutes, sad to say that was the high point of our experience, it was downhill from there. We ordered Pizza and the Le Matt burger to start, I was eager to try the pizza as T highly recommended it. After 20-25 minutes without our food being brought out, we ordered another round of drinks and patiently waited. After about another 15 minutes of waiting, we noticed that a few tables around us which arrived 15-20 after we did had already gotten their food and drinks while we were still waiting for our meals and second round of drinks. At this point, we were frustrated and called on a waiter to politely notify her that we did not get our meals yet or our second round of drinks and that our waitress had not come by to check up on us since we arrived but was present. Our drinks arrived 5 minutes later, by this time we had been seated for 45-50 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes and called the hostess to ask for the check when we noticed more tables around us that came long after us were being served. At this point we were frustrated and felt ignored by the staff, I've never played the race card, and honestly rarely leave reviews but we were the only people of color eating in Old Town at Emmy and I started to think it was the reason we didn't get the customer attention like the other patrons and that upsets me. The host was sincere, apologized and comped our drinks, we declined the offer to wait for the food as it had already been an hour waiting. The host apologized, offered us $100 gift card, we accepted the apology and the gift card. When we checked the gift card balance a day later to plan our next visit, it was ZERO!! My friend T emailed Emmy and they said they would take care of it. One week later, no reply and still no update to the gift card balance! Honestly, I hate to leave bad reviews as things happen and I like to get people benefit of the doubt but MY experience was that of customer disservice. I won't patronize a restaurant that ignores me while providing prompt service to those around me for reasons I hate to imply. I won't be recommending Emmy to any of my...

We will NEVER return to this restaurant! I am surprised that Frank still has a job after the complaints he has received. Also, after reading all of the bad reviews, it's surprising that they haven't resolved the recurring theme of their poor customer service. It was not crowded at all, and we were seated outside quickly. However, after 20 minutes, Frank hadn't come back to take our order. My friend went in to tell him we were ready to order, but he kept talking to some friends of his. I went in and told the hostess we were ready to order, (Frank was behind the bar at this time) and she sent someone else out to take our order. That someone seemed slightly irritated and scribbled our order on a paper menu. Three of the four of us were going to eat the salad and pizza we ordered, but the wait staff/mgr. was upset that someone from our party (WHO WAS VEGAN AND COULDNT EAT THEIR FOOD), brought VEGAN food from down the street. We apologized profusely, but they made it clear they weren't happy and not to do it again. We waited an hour and still did not have our pizza. As other reviewers experienced, people that came after us were getting served and leaving! I saw the two managers looking at us and pointing over at us. I asked if there was a problem and they said no, just that we should not have brought food from another restaurant. Long story short, after complaining, the pizza finally came out. The one male manager whose name I did not get, was the only professional there and removed the cost of the pizza and apologized. Honestly, for the wait and embarrassment of the big deal they made over the outside food (we were sitting outside btw), they should have comped the entire bill! They were more worried about the food we brought to the outside table, than their terrible waiter, Frank. We even informed Frank that someone was getting food from another restaurant... at that point he should have said, sorry, but they can't bring it here. We would have understood and...
