I haven't been here for a long time so I was looking forward to tasting their ice cream again. Parking lot is small but you can park on the streets. Outside the storefront people were eating their ice cream. As I walked in, I saw tables, chairs, candies, ready packaged ice cream, and a display case of decorative ice cream treats. We got in line and waited for our turn. The lady who helped us was not pleasant. Final decision, we ordered one scoop of Mango Sorbet with a sugar cone, Cookies and Cream Ice Cream with a sugar cone and Strawberry Sorbet in a cup.
Dessert The Strawberry Sorbet was good. It was creamy with strawberry pieces. I tasted the Mango Sorbet, it's made with Indian Mangos; it was smooth. Unfortunately, the Cookies and Cream was not flavorful. The Oreo Cookies didn't taste fresh and it had an odd flavor. I would order the Strawberry Sorbet again!
Customer Service I was disappointed because the lady who assisted us was not friendly and she seemed annoyed; I felt rushed.
Rating The ice cream was not the greatest but it wasn't awful either. The service was a big turn off. I'm not sure if I would come back again.
Notes ~Cash Only ~The lady that worked there said we could only sample three ice creams per person ~Single Scoop: $3.50 / Double Scoop: $4.90 / Triple...
Read moreBeen a local to Alhambra for pretty much all of my life. Always thought it was just some really awesome ice cream store that I can walk to! Never really thought too much of Fosselman's until I saw it on the Food Network's Unwrapped. Who knew the little ice cream parlor so renown!
It seems like the rest of Alhambra has changed, but Fosselman's seems to have locked itself in a time capsule. The place probably looks exactly how it looked like when it first opened back in the 1920s? I think about this place when people make fat kid jokes, because its full of ice cream, candies, and everything sweet(it seems like).
These days, a scoop of real ice cream can cost anywhere from $3-5 bucks! But not over here, a hefty scoop of ice cream is only $2.50. My favorites are cookies N cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and dolce de leche.
I've recently tried their ice lemonade, its $2. On a hot sunny day in So Cal, nothing feels more refreshing than a cup of that frothy ice cold lemonade! Heres a Tip, use a spoon! If you use the straw, you are gonna get nothin' but the sweet stuff. And left with lemon flavored frost!
If the small parking lot is full, do not fear! Its perfectly fine to park on the street! You won't feel so guilty afterwards.... when you have walked a few...
Read moreEasily become the worst ice cream I’ve ever had. Saw this shop recommended by Insider as the Top 3 ice cream in LA. I respect the tradition and policy that set by every shop owner, but you have to let the customer know before they make the purchase. We bought 2 ice cream cone and hold them in our hand already, and not until we reached the check out point did we know they take cash only. It is a very unpleasant experience and awkward moment. After withdraw some cash from the bank next door, we sit in the shop to finally have our ice cream. To my surprising, this shop is way over rated. We got four flavors, and non of them taste good…we are very disappointed. While having the ice cream, I saw more customer shocked at the check out point because of their cash only policy. You can tell that people feel awkward and embarrassed and ran to the bank to withdraw cash. Have no idea why the shop owner never want to solve this problem. Also the attitude of the lady at counter make us feel like we’re an outsider, like we’re stupid because we don’t know their cash only policy. Maybe the most awful experience to have...
