Hungarian Strudel Shop — Restaurant in Allen Park

I have had their strudel quite a while ago; when my parents were still with me, we used to go to Allen Park to get some of the Hungarian delicacies we couldn't get unless we went to Toronto. So, I'm reminiscing about my mom's strudel...she didn't make it often because it was a lot of work...when she did I would watch her stretch out the dough with her hands, and, after she pitted the fresh cherries, she would place a line of the fruit topped with a significant amount of sugar (she never used a recipe...it was all in her head, just the way she told me my grandmother would make it in Hungary!) When it was done baking, we couldn't wait to cut the 'rod' of strudel up and devour it...if there was any left the next day, it was a rare occasion! Now, I decided to look up the Hungarian Strudel Shop, and, to my delight, it's still there. I watched a u tube video about the Shop, and I saw the family stretching out the dough exactly the same way my mom did those fifty some years ago when I would watch her making strudel! Oh, and BTW, how is the strudel at the Hungarian Strudel Shop? It's AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! As the first person in my family born in the U.S., I was raised in a VERY Hungarian environment! So, I know how good Hungarian food and pastry is supposed to taste. My office decided it would be nice if we placed an order for some strudel to bring in for everyone. We browsed the Yelp page and saw people talking highly of the strawberry and strawberry & bavarian cream strudels. Unfortunately, when we called the place the order, the woman on the phone was SO INCREDIBLY RUDE that we decided we will not give this store our business. I tried calling the store back to get the woman's name, but she seems to have taken the phone off the hook because the line has rang as busy for the last 30...

A coworker brought one in to work to try and it was so delicious. I knew I had to stop in so the hubby could try. I arrived a few minutes after 8. So I had a variety to pick from. I ended up with Cherry cream and apple strudel. They also sprinkled powdered sugar on top! The lady working the front was very kind and explained everything they had.

The taste is amazing!!!! The strudel was still warm and fresh when I got home. 10/10 from me and my husband. We will be returning!...
