I was just thinking again about how this Panera in Allen ruined our Christmas morning I thought that I should really let them and others know. So here goes.
At Christmas this last year we had planned to have a great soup (homemade) in Panera bread bowls and then decided since we were going to order the bread bowls for Christmas Eve we would also order bagels for Christmas morning. Our menu was planned around these items and things were purchased to go with them. I placed the order, several days early on line, for pick up on Christmas Eve. My husband arrived to pick the order up only to find out they had not fulfilled the order. They had the order, but it got misplaced due to ordering early. (I guess don't order it prepare too early) They were sold out of the bagels I ordered and why we would want the cream cheese I ordered without the bagels. Fortunately they still had soup bowls so Christmas Eve was not lost. Panera, where I love to go, did nothing for us but tell us the yr were sorry. No discount on the soup bowls, no coupon for free bagels in the future, nothing. Sorry, we sold out! I understand things happen. But, also I still feel they should have tried to do something for us. Even if it was in the future. I have my Panera rewards card, I used since then, and I am a good customer. I miss my Chicken and wild rice soup. But I am really not sure I want to go to someplace that cares so little about their customers.
Moral of the story, I guess don't order early?
I expected more! Sorry, so late, but I had bagels from Central Market this morning and it reminded me again how much I love Panera's Cinnamon Crunch bagels and how disappointing Christmas morning was this past year.
I hope this store has new management and if not that they learn to make mistakes right, as best they can, for...
Read moreI hope Panera corporate reads this and gives the manager who works at this location a raise and a promotion. I ordered delivery through the Panera app and was told that the food would take an hour to arrive. Okay, fine, whatever, that's delivery these days. So I waited...and waited...and waited...and I check my phone an hour later, no notifications whatsoever. I check the "track order" tab on the app, only to find that the food had been delivered?! Huh?! I went outside, no food. I went downstairs to the opening to the building, no food (duh). So I called the number to try and find out what happened, no answers. So I finally called the store itself and got on the phone with the manager, Michael.
To be fair, Michael couldn't do anything about DoorDash delivering the food to the wrong person (assuming the food was delivered to anyone besides the driver themselves), but what he did next is what prompted me to write this review. Michael reached out to DoorDash on his own, found out what happened, and remade the order of his own volition, without prompting from me to "make it right."
The dasher arrived, I received my food, and there was even a complimentary cookie in the bag to make up for what happened. That's customer service, and it deserves to be recognized. Thank you Michael for your help on the evening of...
Read moreWe give up. Quality and availability have been on a continual decline for years. Tried one last time today, bad as ever.
First, coffee selection is down to one flavored selection, plus generic light, dark and decaf. The flavored coffee was empty as always, at 9:00 AM on Sunday. Always, always, have to wait until breakfast is over or cold to get the coffee we want.
They are also always out of whatever souffle we drove here for. Second choice today was ham and Swiss. Two postage stamp size pieces of ham laying on top of a plain egg souffle. Looks like they now make generic plain egg souffles and lay a tiny amount of toppings on the surface to create the varieties.
Wife's 'oatmeal with quinoa and almonds' came with no nuts of any type. When she asked about the almond part of the oatmeal and almonds she got a puzzled look, "you want almonds with that?". They were of course out of almonds. She ended up not eating it at all because the quinoa was old and sour.
The servers are nice, no negatives at all there. Its just that you can almost never get what you came for, or it is made cheaply, or made incorrectly, or with spoiled ingredients. After years of this, enough. Not wasting my time driving to this...
