Updated Review – A Much-Improved Experience I want to start by thanking the team at VILLAGE BURGER BAR ALLEN for inviting me back after a previously disappointing visit. I was kindly offered a complimentary meal, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to give the restaurant another try. This second experience was a significant improvement. The Cheese Burger was cooked to perfection this time. Juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you'd hope for from a place that takes pride in its burgers. The service, as always, was attentive and welcoming. Michael and his team clearly care about their guests experience, and it shows. They made a genuine effort to ensure everything went smoothly, and it really made a difference. Thank you again for the invitation it’s clear the team values feedback and is committed to getting things right. I’m happy to say I’ll be back again, this time with full confidence. A must go!!!!
My First review: I really wanted to love this place and make it my go-to burger spot, especially since I recently moved nearby & we were celebrating my son’s birthday.. Unfortunately, I was a little bit disappointed with the cheeseburger. The beef patty was a bit dry and had a slight chewy texture. While the ingredients, the bread and sauce were excellent, the lack of juiciness in the patty made the overall experience less memorable ⚔️— which is a real shame, because the atmosphere here is outstanding. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the setting is fantastic. To truly perfect their burger, they need to master the beef patty — it should be more tender and juicy. I've always loved this place, so I was very let down today when I brought my mom with her service dog and we recieved retaliation from the staff. When we arrived, My mom walked directly to the patio with her dog, while I walked into the building to order. When they saw the dog, they asked me if she was a service dog. I replied yes, and they asked for paperwork, which we are not legally required to show to anyone, especially businesses. They told me that they are not "dog friendly" and since I can't supply paperwork, that we would either have to leave, or "chain your dog to the outside of the patio fence." I was shocked at this, I figured it was obvious that most service dogs can't perform an action when there's a fence between them and the person they perform it with? I went outside to tell my mom what he was saying. She left her service dog outside with me and discussed it with the staff herself. They continued to ask for paperwork despite my mother's attempts to explain to them that she is not required to show any "proof" to them. They continued to be rude and belittle my mom, which is when she said that she would be willing to leave if they did not want our business, to which they replied, "no, it's okay, I'll take your word for it... but if the Allen police show up, it's on you to show them your paperwork" (which is, once again, not legally required). The worst part? It was a manager who spoke with my mom. We left without ordering, no place with that much disrespect for people with service dogs deserves...
Read moreCame here for dinner with family and ordered a Southwest Turkey Burger, a Sweet and Spicy Turkey Burger (without mayo), a Buspoke Burger (cooked med), and two orders of shoestring fries: Sweet potato and Reg French Fries. After waiting 20+ min for the food we noticed we did not get the sweet potato fries or the correct turkey burger (we were brought 2x sweet and spicy sandwiches WITH mayo). Addressed it to staff and apologized then quickly brought us the correct turkey burger, but didn't bring us the sweet potato fries. After I cut into my Bespoke Burger I noticed the meat was undercooked. I normally have any steak or burger cooked med so I am familiar with the amount of pink it consists of. This looked like it was more med rare. I addressed the same staff member and he proceeded to disagree with what we consider as medium. He asked me what he wanted me to do so I informed him of the many mistakes the restaurant has made and said he would refund my meal and fries.
I would be more forgiving if the kitchen made sure the order was prepared correctly before it went out to the guests but that was not the case. I appreciate the refund but I will now think twice before considering...
