What took me so long to eat here!
If I could rate this establishment 6stars I absolutely would. Stopped by on lunch and decided to give this place a try after printing some documents at FedEx print shop next door and was sat immediately by Gigi the bartender. Place was mildly busy and very clean; I took note of tables being bussed right after patrons ended there lunch and asked my waitress, Gigo for suggestions on food as I was a first timer. She expressed everything on the menu was good, which I assumed was the standard response servers give customers, but she doubled down by explaining she's been there 11+ years and hasn't had a bad option personally herself. She pointed out the specials with a smile and patience and I opted for the pizza/salad lunch combo for $15 and again let her know I was undecided between the blackened Alfredo pizza and the BBQ chicken pizza to which she stated the BBQ would be her choice but both were good. I pushed a bit further and asked if I could sample the Alfredo sauce and the BBQ sauce as that would help me choose between the two and she let me know the samples would come out cold but would be warmed after cooking in the wood fired oven with the pizza. Samples came out within 1min of my request and I opted for the BBQ chicken small pizza and house salad with ranch. I was informed of 15mins wait for pizza to cook, which was also on the menu, and was promptly served my salad. The house salad was fresh and crisp, but only had two tomatoe slices and a couple of rings of onions and I like my onions so I asked the lady, whom I believe was co-owner, who delivered my salad after 3-4 mins if I could have additional tomatoes and onions and she said while smiling no problem and brought them out within two minutes. I dressed my salad to my liking and halfway through eating my delicious looking pizza came out and left nothing to be desired. Gigi touched my table to ensure all was well before I was able to finish my salad as I hadn't touched my pizza and checked on how I was doing after I ate the first slice. Let her know it was delicious, but I enjoyed the ranch from my salad with my pizza and asked for another side of it for my pizza which she brought out immediately. My water cup stayed filled without me having to ask, which is a huge plus for me as I drink water like a fish, and halfway through my pizza a gentleman who seemed to be the manager checked in on my experience as well as the other guests to which I stated everything was awesome. Before check out I grabbed Gigi's attention to inquire about these nice portioned salad another table was being served and she mentioned it was indeed their chicken tender salad to which I replied I'll be back to try next time as it had a generous portion of crispy, cut tenders piled high on the fresh salad. Paid my bill and as I was walking out noticed the chef, whom I believe was the second co owner standing in the dining area surveying the business so , I politely stated everything was awesome and left.
Management and ownership taking the time to be available to guests and watching for opportunities to win over guests is no doubt the reason as to why this place is so superbly ran. Couple that with the ability to treat staff well enough that they stay for 10+ years and it's a no brainer as to why this place is such a wonderful experience. I will absolutely be back for that chicken salad as well as to check out...
Read moreSaw this place on TV show highlighting the great food they offer. It was amazing! The service was excellent and mgt staff was friendly. The food was fresh and hot and of high quality. We had the Cajun pasta and ribs. Plenty of food for each serving. Tried the honey pepper bacon as an appetizer and it was such a treat, sweet but with a pepper bite. We plan on trying the brunch next weekend. We saw the brunch menu and it had some great brunch combos. Prices were fair for the amount of food and quality you get. Gotta give it a try, you’ll be very happy. The wood fired pizzas looked yummy too!!! 8/21/21 Felt like I lost an ole friend today at Two Rows. Since my first review I became somewhat a regular. Having lunch at least twice a week and several brunches. Have brought several customers in with me for lunch and normally enjoyed the food and service. Today was pretty poor in many ways. I came in for a late lunch around 2pm. Ordered pizza/salad combo. I asked for a little extra dressing with my salad, got just the regular amount, no big deal. I started with the salad and when my server came by to check on me, I asked for the extra dressing and possibly some more croutons please. She said sure but also informed me the pizza cook forgot about my mini pizza and burned it. Wow, empty restaurant and he forgot, but things happen. She said he’ll make another. As I watched him make the pizza ( I was two tables away from the pizza oven) I noticed my server headed to clean a big table across the restaurant, still without the dressing and croutons! I had to laugh at this point. Several minutes passed and the pizza was done. However it sat by the pizza oven on a table ledge as several servers , 7 in fact passed it by as my server was still bussing the big table. Finally some snapped and the mini pizza made its way to me and my dry salad. The pizza was a mess. Big glop of half melted cheese with cold pizza sauce and barely cut slices. The crust was still uncooked and just plain nasty. But guess what, after telling my server I was truly serious about the salad dressing and croutons, they showed up, whoohoo! Now to credit the owner, he did come out and offer a coupon and apologized. I realize all restaurants have bad days but today was my turn I guess. I would have more understood if the place was packed but it was just me and a table of 3 guys in the entire place! Like I said, felt like I lost an ole friend today, a place I use to love to eat. This was my experience, but you need to judge yourself and give them a try. Hopefully on one of...
Read moreI do really like this place! I do especially like that Honey Pepper Bacon, but it has its drawbacks. For instance, go in for breakfast or brunch and you want milk with your meal and it is $3.49 a glass and they don't fill your glass. So, you are paying more than it costs you for a whole gallon of milk at the store. I tend to drink a lot during my meal, say 2.5 glasses and that is $10.50 just for my beverage and I haven't even gotten to my wife yet. She will drink 1.5 glasses so that is $7. So then our milk bill alone is an astronomical $17.5 before even getting to the meal and if I were to want to drink Orange juice too, or instead, it is a whopping $4.49 a (not so large) glass. I don't know about you but I think that is a deplorable rip off. Unless I am drinking alcohol and drink order should never exceed $6 on the high side for however many refills a person drinks. Now, I do realize that these 2 items are typically more expensive than tea, and soft drinks but it is usually not that astronomical. In addition there brunch price should actually include the drink as I understand buffet. It would be better to simply charge an even $15 and include whatever you want to drink to me. In any case, while the wait staff have that typical new disease that is so common everywhere you go these days in which they never seem to be looking your direction enough that you can hail them with a simple raised hand, they are very pleasant when you are actually interacting with them! My wife and I have been there 2x for the Sunday Brunch arriving at like 12:30 and driving from Wylie (a decent distance) and we have enjoyed the breakfast buffet both times with the exception of the fact that I am choking down my food to avoid drinking too much and spending more on the drink than we do on the food. Many other items on the menu look very good and we are looking forward to going in for an evening meal when we can order tea or a soft drink and pay $5 for our beverages and trying out some of the entrees on the menu that really do look good! I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars for real good breakfast food (really good grits, if you like grits), the Mexican eggs are really good too, and the service is at least...
