I have been going to this restaurant for YEARS when located on 7th st, I would drive from Easton to Allentown even when I lived in NJ I would come to PA just to eat here the food was amazing without a doubt never failed on taste or the fried goods unfortunately today my daughter and I walked in here ordered the yellow rice and pork shoulder just to find hair in her rice, I saw they had blood sausage ask the lady if it was fresh she said yes so I ordered it as it’s one on my favorites as I was walking out the store I couldn’t wait to take a bite it was cold now if you know what this is it’s supposed to be crunchy on the outside soft on the inside but it was cold and soft I went back into the restaurant told the lady it was cold and couldn’t be fresh she tells me she will fix it I take a seat thinking it will be remade well no she brings it back out tell me “ let me know if this is okay” I check it’s warm as if it was Microwaved so I ask if it was she tells me yes as if it was okay I tell her no she tell me again I’ll fix it I nicely decline stated I don’t need you to now fry it I needed a new order her coworker stated to reimburse me as she did if I wanted it microwaved I could’ve done it myself I was looking for it to be fresh. Honestly is key if it wasn’t fresh she would of just said something I paid for our food and gave her a tip when I paid at this time I wish I never tipped her cause I paid for a lie. Time for a new restaurant wish the food was the same but I see it’s not even the soup was...
Read more--old review-- I love this place. Skip the rest of Hamilton Street and venture into this less than welcoming place to have the best food in Allentown. Sometimes I don't know what the food is, but it is always amazing. I stay away from the Tripe and Blood things, but my goodness, the rice and beans, the beef and cheese empenadas, the chicken, the ribs, the various pork parts, it is unreal. Take a chance and give it a try. It really is fantastic. Note: this isn't fine dining, but it is fine eating. If ambiance is your goal, this as of 2016 is not the place, otherwise get your butt in here and expand your...
Read moreVERY racist/prejudice towards BLACK PEOPLE. Have been here multiple times by myself and with other black friends of mine. Every time we come in here we’re disrespected. They will NOT acknowledge the fact that we even walked into their establishment. MULTIPLE times that we have been here they have allowed others (we’ve noticed it’s been hispanic people specifically) to cut right in front of us, again not acknowledging it, and they have received their food before ours (again this has happened on multiple occasions including TODAY). I came in today by myself and there was one woman with BLUE EYESHADOW who allowed two men (hispanic) standing in line behind me to cut right in front of me. I proceeded to try and get the woman’s attention by saying “HELLO” to her multiple times in a row as she continued to ignore me (as a grown woman that’s embarrassing). I understand she may have been a spanish speaker, but the word “Hello” is an english word most none english speakers can understand, so I will not let that slide. You run a restaurant in Allentown where there’s multiple different races everywhere and yall should be able to serve everyone with the same respect. What’s funny is that hispanics are almost cousins of black people… some of yall ARE BLACK. So let’s stop with the disrespect, but if this continues the woman with the blue eye shadow we can...
