Heggy's Confectionery — Restaurant in Alliance

Update (5 stars): Since my original post more than a year ago, this has gone from an excellent find to a bi-monthly delight. The milkshakes are to die for, the food is always good, and I can't leave without first buying a few chocolates to go. So far our favorites are the mac and cheese (we order it every time now), the large filet fish or small square fish sandwiches. Both are good. The sausage sandwich (be warned though that it has no red sauce..... Which is how I prefer it anyways). The grilled cheese sandwiches are perfect. We didn't like the butter fries but I know other people love them..... We just don't like butter on our fries. And the chili was a no go for us and we love chili at most places. Also.... Beware if you order anything with extra or without items because they never seem to come out right. We avoid this though by just ordering all our favorites that don't need altered.

Original Post (5 stars) Went there for the first time and the waitress was very helpful and provided excellent recommendations. food was good and well priced. They offer a little bit of everything to eat and we enjoyed looking at the pictures of all the past alliance carnation queens on the walls. Neat link to the alliance community. Will definitely...

First time I came here several months ago. Perfect service and food. Today I was disappointed as well as my guest. My onion rings order was much smaller than the one brought out before mine. My guest ordered butter fries. Huge disappointment. One very tiny pat of butter on skinny fries,in a small plate. Only a few tasted buttery. I ordered a dietv coke . Server forgot. And yet brought refills.of drinks to other tables. Something is wrong here. I was very kindthroughout. Never complained except they were out of flavors of ice creamwanted. Still nice about it though. Check came to 8. And change. I left 3.00 yip anyay. Pernayhe staff thought because was old Im.not a good tipper. Never been that way in my life. Cooks spent more time laughing than paying attention to their jobs perhaps though happiness on the job is important. I had server last time I was here. Shes outstanding then I left 15 that time. Because I was in extra good mood. Even cashier didn't ask how everything was. That gave mr clue. Please dont judge customers how they dress. Or sound. If that was what was going on. Hopefully not. Like a warm blanket on a cold night, or a meal your mom used to make when you were a kid, this place is home. Comforting, familiar, friendly. The menu is simple, the service is great, and the food it's quite delicious.

I can easily recommend the turkey club, the buttered fries, any one of their salads, the egg salad sandwich, and the chili or broccoli cheese soups.
