My SO and I, both African-American, decided to get lunch takeout from the Alpharetta location today (10/24). It would be our first visit and a very unpleasant experience. This will be our last visit. We both knew what we wanted to order, because we reviewed the menu online. We arrive around 1230. The restaurant was empty. Three caucasian females entered the establishment directly following our arrival and were therefore in line behind us to order. The staff member (a female with dark brown hair and wears a nose ring) came from the back. She met me at the register with an unfriendly and unpleasant demeanor. Her attitude towards us was cold and unfriendly as if we were not welcome at the restaraunt. She did not ask to take our order or greet us. Although she said nothing I greeted her with a friendly smile and said "hello". While placing my order she continued to project this hostile attitude and stare, but remained silent until she stated our total. We paid for the order and seated ourselves. She then, with a pleasant and welcoming demeanor, took the 3 females’ orders. My spouse and I notice the stark difference between the way we were treated and the three customers following us. The three young ladies stood near the side door. After approx 15 min. The same worker reappeared and proceeded to pleasantly serve all 3 females first. Her demeanor was pleasant and warm and she thanked them. She then walked away and grabbed our food from the back. She returned to us with the previous cold, distasteful and unwelcoming demeanor that she previously presented to us. When she brought our food, she did not "thank us" for our patronage, like the previous customers, or say anything. She placed our order on the table in front of me and quickly walked away. She never said thank you. Not one mumble. After discussing this episode with my spouse we both concluded that the difference in the service we received from this woman compared to the other customers was definitely based upon our race. I thanked her and she never replied. If this business does not want to serve persons of a certain color or ethnicity I suggest they place a sign on the front door stating this fact as this would have saved us time and a bad experience. We came extremely close to asking for a refund but did not. We absolutely don't patronize business with this type of customer service. It does not matter how good the food is or how clean the place is, if the customer service is poor and the behavior is discriminatory, we will not patronize. Period. We give it...
Read moreLocated just off the main strip of S Main St (Hwy 9), this newly established Kale Me Crazy location has been blending healthy juices and smoothies as well as whipping up freshly made salads and wraps since the beginning of April 2019!
My wife and I stopped in on National Smoothie Day (6/21) for the first time to have lunch. They were running a special which was 25% off all their smoothies, so we ordered two. I ordered the Green Dream and my wife ordered the Tropical Trippin'. Both smoothies were very light and refreshing in taste which was perfect for a hot summer day. Personally, I enjoyed my wife's drink a little more then mines. The Tropical Trippin' had orange, mango, pineapple, coconut yogurt and coconut milk all blended together! Anything mango is my jam! I just thought I'd be adventurous and try something I normally wouldn't order. The Green Dream consists of kale, spinach, pineapple, apple, mint leaves and coconut water. Don't get me wrong, it was very flavorful as well, but I just preferred the taste of my wife's smoothie more!
The normal prices (tax included) for each smoothie are as follow: Tropical Trippin': $8.02 Green Dream: $8.56
We also ordered their chicken pesto wrap and turkey wrap. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the chicken pesto wrap the most! I love sun-dried tomatoes and basil pesto sauce. Each wrap was $10.70 (tax included). I will say that the wraps are pretty small for the price tag that's on them. The wraps also do not include a side or a drink. Nonetheless, both were still very delicious in flavor! The turkey wrap had avocado and hummus on it which really enhanced the overall flavor and texture of the wrap. My wife really enjoyed this wrap the most!
There is very limited parking in front of the cafe. You may get lucky and find an open parallel parking spot in front of the cafe, but be prepared to park at another business or parking lot and walk over. My tip is to just go ahead and park behind Ceviche if the area is busy. There is a pretty big parking lot located behind the restaurant which typically always has open parking spots. Once you park in the parking lot, come through the outside seating area of Ceviche, cross the street at the intersection and wallah, you're there. Less then a 2...
Read moreI was recommended Kale Me Crazy as a local health food option by Marie of Oya Yoga (another fantastic place I recommend!) I ordered the poke bowl that costs $14.50 and the Warrior smoothie that costs $9.50 for pick up. The place is more trendy and upscale being located in the heart of Alpharetta so it’s a bit more pricy for the portioning- but the quality was great!
The tuna tasted fresh and was aesthetically presented well. The Warrior drink is like a McDonald’s small size but it was super delicious, vegan, and looked like it was made with care. I would love to learn how to make it myself. The front desk girl Soeil w/ the white sneakers and jeans who gave me my order was friendly.
The indoor decor is chic and the music played included Empire of the Sun and The Naked and Famous. It’s good place to catch up with someone over casual lunch with customers being consistent and steady for Saturday. I will probably be back after limbering up more...
