This was my second visit to Maple Street Biscuit Company. Because they were so "gourmet delicious" on my first visit, I decided to take my family to try the BAM YO YO waffles and chicken dish. Everything was different and no longer gourmet. The food was subpar. They changed the waffles to a airy, less filling product, and their sweet icing glazed pecan cinnamon biscuit was horrible because they took out the nuts. Now the sweet treat is a crispy cinnamon dough ball of mush. It's a trendy place and has so much potential. However, since they feel that watering down the waffles and removing the pecans to save money is proper, then they deserve to lose the business. The strongest blend of drip coffee was weak, and the waffles were cooked a bit too dark. "Golden brown" is the appetizing color for waffles. To be honest, Maple Street Biscuit Company really dropped to a dark place in my opinion. They could simply change the place to Waffle House and do better. I will not return until I speak with an owner of the establishmenr to find out whether they are going to put things back to how it was when I first tried their food. I will go back on the date he or/and she tells me things should be returned to its original gourmet taste. Otherwise, I will not be going back to eat there because it is just not worth it now. SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURE OF THE FOOD BEING SERVED ON DECEMBER 28TH, 2018 AT 11:30am TO 1:30 pm TO BETTER UNDERSTAND AND APPRECIATE WHY I AM TELLING YOU THAT I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. SO SAD AND...
Read moreWe’ve been loyal customers of Maple Street for years — long before this location even opened. Since moving to the area in 2020, this specific location has been our go-to, and we’ve always had a great experience — until today.
We placed an online order, and the biscuits we received were half-baked — doughy and undercooked on the inside, completely lacking the rise we’re used to. The top looked fine, but the inside was raw and dense.
We came back to let the team know, and the person who bakes the biscuits came out to speak with us. Honestly, he was pretty rude. When we explained the issue and said we’ve been coming here often, he just said, “That’s how we bake them,” and followed up with, “I’m the one who always bakes. I don’t know where you ate before.” It was a dismissive and unnecessary response, especially when we approached the conversation politely and just wanted to get it fixed.
I can guarantee this is the same location we’ve been coming to since at least 2020 — and I have photos, not just from today but going back years, showing that the biscuits are normally nothing like what we got today.
We’ve always loved Maple Street, and we’ve been loyal for a reason. That’s why today’s experience — both the food and the attitude — was so disappointing. That's $10 straight into the trash and waste of 45 mins. And honestly, maybe they should check how many customers are trashing it as well — because I noticed, and it...
Read moreOverall, I enjoy the food at Maple Street, but they struggle with consistency on several fronts. The menu at Maple Street had many good options, but there are some "traps" once you get outside the normal biscuit sandwich realm. The Sunshine in the Garden bowl, for example, sounds like a great variation on the Italian Eggs in Purgatory, but is actually a huge bowl of tomato sauce with a couple of eggs on top flanked by one biscuit that is hopelessly unable to even soak up a portion of the sauce. Had they tossed some greens into it (e.g. kale or roasted Brussels sprouts), added another biscuit, and reduced the amount of sauce by a third, it would have been a much better dish.
The biscuits and gravy are another example of a poorly composed dish. Way too much claggy gravy, not enough biscuit and in desperate need of some acid and salt. Order still is how overwhelming generous they are with some things (gravy and sauces on biscuits for example), yet they manage to be stingy with the size of biscuits and other toppings.
They are also inconsistent with serving temperature (we had one barely warm chicken breast and one very hot one) and overall preparation (we had a Smoky Mountain Mac n Cheese that had separated and came with several tablespoons of grease, the chicken breasts need to be crunchier).
The food here is so close to being great and it is frustrating that the details are what stands in Maple...
