The Nest Cafe is a gem for Alpharetta. There a few quality coffee shops north of the Atlanta perimeter, so it's wonderful to have the Nest up here. Not only do they serve great coffee from Batdorf and Bronson (which is a stinking good coffee roastery), but they also serve delicious food. You can taste and see the passion that goes into everything from the latte art to the taste of the Nest Panini and the customer service of the friendly and non-pompous staff. The staff are coffee nerds but they don't look down their noses at you like at some coffee bars in Atlanta.
Coffee: Their coffee from Guatemala is very smooth. It's a bit sweet. I think the Spanish word "suave" which translates to smooth does a better job summarizing the mouth feel of this coffee than simply saying "smooth" in English. The flavors are balanced and it's not going to blow your socks off with extreme flavors, but it's pleasant to drink.
Food: The Nest Panini is a masterpiece. I was surprised at how good it was for a new cafe. You can taste the passion. It has avocado on it which adds a nice creamy texture. The Gelatto isn't a heavy dessert. It's made from whipped skim milk, so it has less fat and more air in it than traditional ice cream. After eating you don't feel bloated or enter into a food coma like after eating ice cream. It's light and refreshing and it's a great way to close out a meal.
Customer Service: Jordan the owner does a great job getting in touch with his customers. They have a lot of repeat customers (like myself) which says a lot about the quality customer service. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. As a customer you are welcomed, listened to, and respected.
Overall this place is a gem. There is a lack of quality coffee shops and cafes north of the perimeter, so the Nest is head and shoulders above the competition. They really stand out. Also that combined with the fact that Alpharetta is growing and developing rapidly, they're in a great location. In the next year or so I think they'll have a consistent line of eager customers flowing all the way out of the door. In the future one of their biggest challenges may be keeping up with demand.
The only two negatives I can think of are: The size of the cafe - it's not huge but not small. You could probably fit 40 - 60 customers inside and about 30 - 50 outside. It would be nice if there was a conference room you could book for business meetings. Not a lot of electrical outlets - this isn't a huge deal, because most people's laptops keep charge for a few hours these days. But adding more outlets both inside and outside would take this place to an even higher level.
Anyway, those two negatives are kind of petty. This is an excellent cafe. I highly recommend it if you're into nice coffee, delicious food, and great customer service. Also the price is pretty low in relation to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't post about breakfast much but when I do it's because of awesome spots like @thenestcafe in downtown Alpharetta, Georgia. A little while ago I woke up bright and early and got there right at their opening time of 7AM to make sure I beat the crowd. This was perfect and gave me the opportunity to really just relax and enjoy the peacefulness and quietness of the morning. The streets were empty and the weather was perfect. If you're familiar with Alpharetta then you know this is a big deal š
LOLLY WAFFLES (waffles on a stick) and an order of their BEIGNETS started off my morning. The waffles are awesome, you can order regular, blueberry or chocolate... or in my case, 1 of each š Their Beignets are perfectly cooked, not greasy when you bite into it, and they paired up well with their chocolate sauce.
The star of the show was their CALIFORNIA CROISSANT... this thing was perfect for me. On their site, the description says "Originally on our secret menu until word got out - "The Cali" is served on a toasty croissant with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, ovengold turkey, melted chipotle gouda cheese, beefsteak tomato, fresh avocado, arcadian greens and chipotle mayo" ... I mean, need I say more??
The Nest Cafe has a great team who will provide you with excellent service, I just can't speak of how busy they get because I was the first one there š They do have plenty of outdoor sitting but with this Georgia heat, I'm not so sure how comfortable that would be.
Come on... go out and get your breakfast on at The Nest Cafe and let me know what you order!! Just make sure you wake up early šµāš«

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very disappointed in my experience with this place. I ordered their Honey Toast which I thought would be French toast, maybe made with honey, and the description said there was ice cream and berries - so I thought this would be an interesting composed breakfast dish. It was a bowl of ice cream with berries in it and what seemed to be previously frozen bread that had been completely submerged in oil in a fryer and then covered in powdered sugar (which wasnāt powder anymore because it had soaked up a bunch of grease). Okay so it didnāt look the way I had expected it to, no big deal. But the toast was more like a huge crouton in texture and so so so sweet. I couldnāt eat more than a few bites. The syrup for it was very sticky and tacky and also way too sweet. I had ordered a side of sausage with my meal but it never came. My boyfriend got his meal nearly ten minutes before they brought mine and he was almost finished when mine arrived. The girl from the counter came out to tell me that the kitchen had put my sausage on his plate and that the order was only one piece and I asked her if that meant that I was now supposed to take that piece off of his plate?? She said yes. So I felt bad for taking the last bit of food my boyfriend had been looking forward to finishing! The sausage was good. The coffee was good. The rest of the experience was terrible. As we left, my boyfriend mentioned that his eggs tasted like they were precooked buffet style and that must be why his food came out so quickly. Never again. At least send the two dishes at...
