I've been a Mama's Pizza customer since 70's when it was in "The Roswell Mall". I even worked there for a couple of years after high school so I can tell you a few inside secrets about this Pizzeria.
First of all, The restaurant is a Pizzeria and not a white table cloth restaurant. You order could be taken at the counter or if it's slow someone might take your order at your table. Your food will be delivered to your table HOT but, if they are in a the middle of a rush, you might have to refill your own drink. FYI: That's why the soda fountain is out in the isle.
Second, the owners of Mama's Pizza make everything. They don't get anything from a commissary prepackaged. They make their dough from scratch with flower and water and seasonings. They get their cheese in blocks and shred it themselves. If you got a salad, about 5 minutes before someone chopped up a head of lettuce. The meatballs in a meatball parm entered the store as ground beef, were seasoned, and cooked onsite.
Third, this is truly a family owned and operated restaurant. I have never known a harder working family in my life. They are OPEN 61 hours a week and believe me, someone is there, before opening, prepping food, and after closing, cleaning the entire place for the next day.
Lastly, Mama’s pizza has been around for over 30 years. A family owned business… 30 years! Think about it! Today in the age of the mega franchise. I bet you can name 3 large pizza chains that in all rights should be able to crush a small business like this, but they can’t. Mama’s Pizza easily makes the best pizza in the...
Read moreI’ve had nothing but great things to say about this place until today, I’m not sure of the situation at the moment with management or staff but the quality of service I experienced tonight including the quality of product was sub par in comparison to every other time I have been here. It’s been at least a couple weeks since I’ve been in and I saw new faces I had never seen before and very few of the lovely employees I usually see that provide great service. I ordered a pizza online and it always takes 25-35 minutes at most. I live close thankfully but I arrived 30 minutes after ordering online and was told they hadn’t started making the order yet and it would be 10 minutes for my order, upon receiving my pizza it was very undercooked and they drowned it in olive oil to the point where it was dripping through the box by the time I got home. The pizza was hardly cut and all of the toppings slid off the top and parts of the pizza were cold to the touch even though ordered the pizza crispy because I like my pizza a bit more cooked than most. I’m worried this place has begun to lose focus on quality and customer service and attention to detail. While I was waiting customers came up and said they were missing toppings. I paid $39 including tip and I can assure you the pie tasted like a $15 pie I’ll give it another try at a later date but I’m not going to get...
Read moreOrdered online via Door Dash. They got our drink order wrong (not sure if that was the restaurant or Door Dash though). Garlic bread had no garlic. Mozzarella wedges are chewy and underdone. As you can see from the photos, one pizza had all of the toppings slid off in transit and the flavors were just Meh. The larger white pizza is bland and has very little actual flavor. It's also missing garlic and olive oil. Normally white pizzas are topped with basil and olive after cooking also, so this is another miss. Again.. some issues were no doubt Door Dash. The rest seem to be serious quality control issues. I doubt we will be trying Mama's again. The two pizzas alone were about $20 each. I've had much better for cheaper. And I hate leaving 3 star reviews. Our total order with uncut-up non garlic garlic bread, undone mozzarella wedges, bad pizzas with not only bland toppings but cut haphazardly, and an incorrect drink order cost upwards of $75 with delivery included. The only flavorful things were the cannoli's. Sorry Mama's. I hate to talk negatively when I leave reviews, but we've had WAY better...
