I walked in at noon, 30 minutes after opening time per Google on a Saturday and they told me they won’t open for another 30 minutes. The door was unlocked and I said I will come back.
I came back an hour later after some shopping nearby. When I sat down and ordered, the waitress told us one of the dishes uyghur lagman will take a long time like 20-25 min to make, because they make everything fresh. So I tried to order manty, but that will also take 20-25 min to make. So I said I will wait for what I originally wanted and the waitress went into the kitchen for a few minutes with my order and said the kitchen said uyghur lagman is unavailable and asked if I would like boso lagman instead.
I tried to be understanding and approved the other dish knowing it’s a small restaurant with limited staff. When the food came out, it was not anything special. My boso lagman beef was so overcooked and dry like a jerky and it was just a simple stir fry noodles with vegetable and eggs on top. Plov tasted like another simple rice dish with some chickpeas, pomegranate and quail egg. I find it intriguing it takes 20-25 min to cook those dishes when there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant
As we were halfway through with our food, a food delivery driver came in complaining of how long he’s been waiting for the food to be ready, he was very upset with how nothing was ready still and how the order was coming out partially at times.
I felt uncomfortable with the delivery driver being so rude and hearing everything that’s going on, I just wanted to pay and get out. We couldn’t find the waitress and we walked up to the counter to go pay for our food. The waitress did end up showing up to the counter and we paid there. She asked us how everything was and if the food was good. I had to ignore her question, because it was not going to be nice and constructive at the moment.
Please have professionalism and open the restaurant at scheduled time. If it cannot be open for some reason, a notice should be posted on the front door and the door should be locked
If a menu item is unavailable, that should be communicated to the waitress at opening. For the waitress to tell me oh that food takes a long time as a warning and have my order denied come off to me as if they don’t want to make this dish for me
Also very expensive for such simple dishes and I think it will be a restaurant people visit once out of curiosity but not somewhere they will regularly visit.
I would love to see this restaurant thrive, but after such an unpleasant experience and wasting my precious time on a Saturday with mediocre food, I am posting this review in order to save others a...
Read moreWe recently came across this halal Uzbek restaurant and wanted to give it a try. On my first visit, I went in as they opened and couldn’t get the Plov because they cook it fresh everyday and it takes time so I decided to come back the next day. We ordered Uzbek bread Lepeshka along with the lentil soup and the combination was out of this world and is easily a huge portion enough for two. We also ordered Manty(steamed beef dumplings), Plov (Uzbek beef rice dish), grilled chicken wings, chicken nuggets+ fries, and honey cake for dessert. My family enjoyed every single dish. The Plov was filled with cuts of beef, well seasoned, flavorful and very fresh since it’s cooked everyday. The yellow carrots and quail eggs in Plov are great. The grilled chicken wings were jumbo sized and well seasoned to perfection.Manty was also our favorite dish and I have been craving authentic Halal dumplings for a long time and I was not disappointed. For dessert we recommend everyone to order their freshly baked honey cake and wash it down with complimentary Turkish tea accompanied by Uzbek sugar crystals. I am going to definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant to...
Read moreIt was our first time here. We are familiar with this cuisine and were looking for certain dishes. Sadly, the regular Lagman wasn’t available, so I got Boso Lagman which is 3/5 for me. Just because it had too much fat from meat and a bit too salty to my liking. The Manty were pretty good, and homemade tomato sauce too. The Lepeshka as I remember from my country, just on spot. Fluffy and crunchy 🩷 Desserts are pretty delicious. Not your overdone American cakes. Napoleon has no sweet taste- and I love it. The Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake is super yummy, by price is a bit expensive for a small piece. Atmosphere is nice- traditional pictures, greenery, and stylish look. Service was well done. The only “but” some items are not there even though listed on the menu.
Overall, I really like it here. And if you like exploring new cuisines or want a taste of your home country...
