Food is just OK. The flavor is missing. If you order garlic butter, you get only that. There is no salt which made everything taste bland. If you like scallops, stay away from this place. They were cold and still partially frozen with a few of them. Their specials are not really specials. They just combine items at the same cost as individual, but remove any of the extras (potatoes, corn, etc).
The atmosphere was really loud! Apparently it was karaoke night (on Mother's Day...) and the speakers were super loud for the small environment. The singing was horrible and a campaign speech in the middle of it for some commisioner (vote for him because the owner wants you to). It was difficult to make our order without yelling. Forget talking to the person at your table because everyone was yelling to communicate over the terrible singing.
Service was slow. It took about 30 minutes to get our fried foods, then another 10 minutes for kids meal, then another 12 minutes to get the steamed/boiled items. Yes, and hour to get the order fully brought to the table.
The worst part is the credit card fraud. Double check your charges for the waitresses will turn ones into fours. This happened to us. Waitress was Danielle. Spoke to manager Andrew and he said owner will call after correcting. After several days there was no call returned. Now when we call we get a answering machine to call back or asked who is calling to be told Andrew is too busy. Owner is apparently never there.
Per the woman at front desk (not giving her name since she was only honest person so far), when I told her situation, she said several people have complained of same thing from Mother's Day. She said Danielle has done this before and is still employed there. The owner refuses to make corrections to their credit cards. She said owner doesn't care because they are always short staffed and manager will hide in the back.
This was our last visit. I put in fraud claim to bank since the merchant will not correct the issue. This is why I take pictures of every receipt before I leave a place, because of establishments like this one that allows...
Read moreUrgent Concern Regarding Allergen Contamination and Lack of Accountability
I am writing this review to express my deep concern and distress regarding a recent experience I had with your restaurant. I ordered a sausage boil to-go and specifically inquired during the call whether any shellfish came into contact with the meat or if there was any cross-contamination. I was clearly and confidently told that there was absolutely no crossover.
However, upon returning home and serving the sausage to my daughter—who has a severe shellfish allergy—she began exhibiting signs of anaphylaxis almost immediately. She appeared to be choking, developed hives, and started grabbing at her throat. I had to administer both of her epinephrine auto-injectors while simultaneously calling emergency services. First responders arrived within five minutes, but in that short time, her condition deteriorated rapidly; her skin became pale and bluish, and her throat was closing dangerously fast. The EMTs stated that had medical intervention been delayed any further, the outcome could have been fatal.
My daughter is currently hospitalized and on oxygen, and we expect to remain here for several days.
Following this traumatic event, I contacted your restaurant to speak with a manager and clarify how the food was prepared. The response I received was not only dismissive but completely lacking in empathy. I was told, “I hope everything works out,” and asked rudely, “What do you mean, is it mixed?”—which I found to be not only unprofessional but deeply upsetting, especially under such serious circumstances.
I remained calm and respectful throughout the call, but I must stress how unacceptable this experience has been. This level of negligence and lack of accountability is beyond troubling. I will be consulting with our family attorney regarding the next steps.
At a minimum, I expected a sincere apology and a commitment to review your food safety protocols, especially as they relate to allergen handling and staff...
Read moreMy wife and l love to try new places to dine in at. So today we decided to try a new place while being in Altamonte Springs. The hostess didn’t really greet us when we arrived what ever happened to hospitality and being cordial by greeting someone like saying Good Evening, welcome and so on. The hostess took both my wife and l temperature which l understand due to the pandemic and all and then led us to our table. Our waitress at least said hello and then asked for our drinks which the sweet tea that l ordered didn’t taste like sweet tea, it tasted more like a sweet tea made more from Brisk tea which tasted like they squeezed a lot of lemon in it. I ordered an appetizer of clam chowder which didn’t come out the same time my wife’s appetizer arrived. I had to ask another server for my clam chowder. Finally after l received my appetizer was Luke worm and didn’t taste that well. When our meal came out it was very salty and the Garlic butter flavor that we ordered didn’t taste like garlic butter. Not to mention that our waitress failed to come to our table enough she seemed to be focused on her other patrons located at other tables. I had to ask another server for the crab cluster breaker for my wife to enjoy her crab legs which were over cooked. I remember that tips were something that is earned and that it isn’t the servers right to receive tips. I normally tip well when l receive great service but the waitress only came by our table minimal amount of times to our table while my wife and l dined at the table. We always give an establishment one try and this place doesn’t deserve a second visit. Save yourself the hassle and dine...
