Pete's Lounge — Restaurant in Alton

Pete's Lounge is a pretty cool dive bar. The food is good and priced well. The cocktails are strong and they have a good variety of beers. Their bartenders are friendly and so are the other patrons. Sitting at the bar, all conversations overlap and everyone participates.

I've been back several times since my first visit. I mainly come for the Kobe Burger at lunchtime. A cold beer, burger and a basket of crisp fries always hits the spot.

Their Friday and Saturday Steak Specials are pretty damn good, too. One visit I added, shrimp. A Caesar Salad, Steak with 3 Shrimp and a Baked Potato made for a great meal.

I kept telling myself to try the pizza, so the next time I go for lunch, I will order pizza instead of my typical...

Made a business related stop to Pete’s Lounge a week ago. Matt mentioned they have the “best steak in town” and serve on Fridays at 5pm. For a place classified as a “nightclub”, I was skeptical; but open to give it a try. I have literally never had a better steak in my life. I have traveled the country and ate at 10,000 different places and this one is by far, the best! The food was amazing. The atmosphere inviting and tidy. The people were friendly. An elderly woman played the gaming machines with constant encouragement from the other patrons. I can only imagine how much that lifts her spirits and heart. My family and I will return and recommend to everyone we know. Thanks for an amazing Friday...

Always liked the food but why have to-go menus when the phone never works and hasn't for months. More than willing to pay over $10 for a burger just don't see the difference between you answering the phone or me having to sit there and stare at the wall...
