Urgent Message for Red Cap Cafe Alvin Tx Owner. was first visit me and my mom. We ordered the daily special and tacos. When we went to check Out we were not given an itemized ticket my mom added the Tip and the waitress rang us up. She then printed out the ticket and we noticed we did not get the daily special rate instead of $10 for the wing basket. We were charged 13.99 for the wing basket. Can we question when we question the waitress She figured out she didn’t click on special on her handheld to give us the correct rate So she had to ask the young man manager to fix our ticket he offered to only give us back three dollars after March. Discussion. We explained that we were charged $3.99 too much And that’s four dollars and not three dollars. Both the waitress and the manager looked at my mom like she was trying to cheat them💸 Mom then said just forget it and split the money between themselves. Need to train your people to do better at fixing an issue and better hospitality. My name is James Davis and my mom name is...
Read moreWe were psyched to check out Red Cap Cafe when we saw the sign! I adore little diners, especially since it's just a block from our place. We've been there three times already, and I haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet. The first time, my family and I went for breakfast, and we loved it – we got our usual eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The service was great, and the place felt so cozy. The second time, I went for lunch with the kids; my picky daughter devoured her chicken nuggets and fries – I was thrilled, since she's so picky! I got the turkey bacon melt, and it was amazing – so much turkey, I thought it was chicken at first! The service was good, too. And today, we went back for lunch again – my daughter got her nuggets, my husband loved his Rodeo Burger (those jalapeños were killer!), and I almost couldn't finish my sourdough bacon cheeseburger, it was so good! The service was awesome, as always. Overall, I love this place and will definitely keep going back – the food, the prices, the service, the atmosphere…...
Read moreRiley greeted me warmly and took my order at the counter. I ordered: • Junior Burger (no mustard, all condiments on the side) • Classic Patty Melt with tater tots • 1974 Burger with fries
All the burgers were cooked perfectly, and the portion sizes were generous. The amount of french fries was huge, and the tater tots were also a good portion. However, the french fries were significantly over-salted, which was a bit disappointing.
One issue I noticed is something many restaurants overlook: when hot, extra-crispy french fries are placed in a Styrofoam container, the heat and steam cause them to lose their crispiness. This could easily be remedied by using cardboard or paper containers instead.
Overall, it was a good value for the price, and we appreciate the effort the Red Cap team is putting into this location (formerly Diana’s). We’ll be back to try it again and wish the owners and management the...
