Chicken Express — Restaurant in Alvin

This is the third time I've went to one of these type of restaurants. Really impressed by the specific restaurant as it was the same people there is last time. They still were all very friendly and happy. Really nice to see when you go to a place that they enjoy their work. The place was neat and tidy and well-maintained. The food took a little long but was fresh when we got it and very good. Really like their menu options. Will most likely be a place I frequent more often. Update, went here with daughter and granddaughter as she likes the chicken fingers. It was a wait again and my corn nuggets weren't fresh but they were generous with the chicken and they got the order right.

Update: went for a quick meal for a helper . Something was happening as it took a while to get the order. Then I waited a while as well to get served at the window. Order was good though

The food was good but the service was awful. I pull up and order fried okra as my side and was told it would take 5 minutes and asked if that was okay (I said yes - I worked fast food for 6 years so I know there are items that are cooked to order, so I had no problem waiting). However, I get to the window and no one is there. Another car pulls up behind me and the worker appear out of nowhere and walks the drink to the car behind me. I have my window down so I hear them chatting so I guess it was someone she knew. They talk for about 5 minutes. She goes back inside and still ignores the fact that I’m sitting at the window and still hasn’t greeted me or taken my money. Finally, 9 minutes after I order she opens the window and hands me my drinks without saying a word. She hands me the food and I ask for ranch and she comes back and says “anything else?” And I say no and she closed the window. I ordered a spicy 2 pc tender snack pack with macaroni and cheese, a side of cole slaw, and a side of fried pickles. The lady was nice and got my orders correct when I ordered through the drive thru.

The only thing that was hot was the fried pickles and they were actually really good. I didn't get the ranch with it like I ordered.

The chicken tenders taste was good but they were COLD (not cool) and you could tell they had been made awhile before I ordered them because the breading was coming off.

The cole slaw was good. Not the best I've had but not disgusting. Somewhat watery.

The macaroni and cheese was absolutely disgusting!!! There was a hole in the styrofoam because it looked like it had been heated and cooled many times and the cheese was clumpy. It wasn't even edible! Not sure why they would ever serve anyone this. I took a pic for proof.
