Finally there is Mediterranean food in our city! As a vegetarian, I always look for this type of food in bigger cities because I know I'll easily find a meal. The food was fresh (made to order falafels, and I think all the protein is) and tasty. The falafels were cooked perfectly-they were crispy on the outside and very thin (never seen them like that before-almost like thick crackers) and had fantastic flavor! I would be happy to just get several orders of the falafel to have during the week to add to my lunches! The Muhammara was delicious and very spicy. The Baba Ghanoush was tasty and the hummus was good too. I added the green tahini dressing. Something was quite sweet in my bowl-not sure if it was the sauce, or if one of the pickled veggies had a sweetness. I had sweet potatoes, but it wasn't that-it was an overall sweetness....
They just opened, so I know kinks are being worked out. The only issue I had was that I crafted a regular bowl. I added the roasted veggies to my selection (an added price). But after my husband paid I realized they charged me for the specialty "falafel & Veggies" bowl (which is what my hubby got which is how I know it comes with half an avo). Had I known I was going to be charged for that, I would have taken the half avocado that comes on that bowl. It's a little confusing for patrons and the workers, so it was just a misunderstanding. I was asked, "what toppings do you want?" after the initial part of the bowl was built. I'm very familiar with Mediterranean food, so I knew what everything was. However, someone trying to figure out what everything is might be a bit daunted, especially if they're trying to read all the descriptions on the menu while in line and the worker is waiting on their answer. It will take some folks a bit of time to figure out what they like. The only other thing my husband mentioned was that the menu says "Crispy arugula", which was kind of misleading...It was fresh chopped kale. Then there's "Leafy arugula" which was basically just fresh spinach. There was 1 leaf of arugula. You're not really getting arugula here. Not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning.
Overall, a tasty lunch. Good quality, fair prices, nice staff. I'm SO GLAD to have a healthier vegetarian-ish eatery in Amarillo. It's long overdue! We...
Read moreI will admit I didn’t look hard over the menu and went with something simple: Arroz and grilled chicken, chickpeas and just a honey dressing and baba ganoush. It was kinda dry, the chicken. The condiments were scant, I should have asked for them separately. The lavish bread, like a flat pita bread was good. I would like more time to study the menu and plan a better dish or try a curated one. Amarillo is so lacking on decent restaurants that people have been 3 weeks in a line outside of a resurrected fast food fish place! I am glad we have HEALTHIER options. Next time I will dine in and navigate my selection better. Overall the food is very affordable and I look forward to going...
Read moreI loved being able to build my own bowl, the food was delicious and the service was great. I have not tried the curated bowls but I loved my Greek chicken bowl with spiced fries, leafy greens, pickled onions, feta cheese, fresh lemon juice, olive oil, chickpea salad, and white garlic sauce and hummus/pasta feta dips with artisan bread. Its so nice to get healthy meals instead of just fast...
