I had been going to crunch for about 5 months, I had a personal trainer which she was amazing!!! However when it was time for me to sign up for new sessions with my trainer the people up front do not know what they are doing. I was paying my trainer fees bi-weekly so when I paid they were only suppose to charge me $100. However that happened on a Thursday before Easter I was leaving on vacation on Wednesday. That Monday I'm thankfully checking my bank account and they took a payment out of $500. (WOW) I text my trainer she said she would let the person who ran my card know, she was very apologetic. She let me know that my money would be in my bank account by Thursday (before good Friday) I expressed to her that I really was counting on that $400 for my vacation. I left town and no money was returned. So Monday after Easter I check my account and still nothing. I message my trainer again and she was concerned as well. She then calls me and says it wasn't showing up as a refund and that the GM Jenny had taken care of it. Come Tuesday I check my account again AND there's another $50 pending payment trying to be processed. Wow!!! At this moment I'm furious. I called the gym spoke with Jenny the GM and she was quick to hand me off to a new person who is over the trainers. I explained to her, you are the GM I need to talk to you not the new person. She definitely did just pass me down. Jaden then takes over the phone and he says he understood and knew what I was going threw. I said really you've had $500 debited out of your account right before leaving on vacation ok well maybe this happens more than I thought. However I go on and explain why I was furios was the new pending payment they were trying to pull. Unbelievable that they can't get my refund back of $400 but know taking an additional $50. He said he was going to talk to the GM Jenny (which is why I wanted to speak with her to begin with, I knew he wouldn't be able to give me answers) that day went by, I then call him 24 hours after talking to him and they ask who I was I told them me and who I needed to speak with, the person puts me on hold gets back on and says he is actually talking yo the GM now about your situation he will call you back. Really!!!! I think this type of issue should be an urgent issue that should of been resolved a dang week ago. Anyways Jaden calls me back and says they are reversing that pending payment too. The guy who originally processed this had been let go and they were sorry. Well I'm sorry I think I need something more than just we are sorry. We are talking about $400 being taken on my account for no reason and no one knows why. That's odd. I for sure didn't sign up for this kind of customer service. They made my account negative due to bills being processed as well. They didn't care. I'm sorry but $400 is alot of money to just say oh yes here you go I don't need those funds for my vacation and to pay my bills. I asked him if they would be able to offer like a some type of compensation, free session with trainer month free of gym something because this was so wrong on their part. He said let me talk to my GM Jenny and will get back to you. I've called twice for Jaden no call backs I've called twice for Jenny and no call backs either. Unbelievable how the GM just seems to not have the education or training on how to have better customers service especially with people who they screw around. The more I think about it the more ot makes sense, when they processed my payment it was at the end of the month so whoever kept those commission on that I'm sure had to wait for the beginning of the month o refund them. PROS ⢠Planet Fitness could not compare at all with the amount of heavier weights that Crunch provides. ⢠Crunch beat planet fitness again by having official deadlift platforms, squat racks and free weight bench press platforms ⢠Crunch is open 24hrs EVERYDAY EVEN THE WEEKENDS!! Even the gym I chose over Crunch canāt match that. ⢠Crunch separates the plate loaded machines from the pin loaded machines to make it easier to identify depending on your preferences. ⢠Crunch has punching bags and a functional training area with a lot of space to do sleds and whatever else you want.
CONS ⢠Crunch is nowhere near as clean as Planet Fitness ⢠The restrooms are the worst thing about crunch, not many stalls and not clean. ⢠NO Smith machines, this was one of the biggest draws to the gym I ended up picking over Crunch. The gym I chose has BOTH š. ⢠Elbow-to-Elbow, this gym feels like you have absolutely no space to train particularly in the Dumbbell area without running into someone else. ⢠No reracking of weights, but hear me out, I donāt even blame the customers. I ALWAYS rack my weights and DIDNāT when I went to this gym. I see why no one does here, itās weird but you kinda have to be there to understand. Itās like you donāt even really know where you would rack your weights. If you work out there you will understand.
Bottom line is, this gym has a lot of training options, the functional area, plate loaded machines, and free weight options are good. Also LOVE their treadmills that have the functionality I look for, better than the Amarillo Planet Fitness ones. Those things considered this could be the gym for you. So I called & asked to have it cancelled for both then all of a sudden in January of 2018 which is months later they withdraw money from my account mind you I cancelled months before then not even a week later they tried another withdraw but I had already told my bank that they were not authorized to withdraw fund, So I called them last week to find out what was going on they said they had no record of me in the system, then all of a sudden they say oh its because your still stuck in our system and they got it cancelled and for me to take in my bank statement showing where they withdrew the funds case it didn't show an amount in their system. So I go in & speak to their so called MANAGER Megan Staunton who starts off rude and asks for the key ring, I ask what key ring if I haven't even been to that gym then proceeds to well If you gave us the account info of course its going to get withdrawn and I told her I had already spoken to someone about the issue and she wasn't listening like she needed to then says that she cant refund me the money, Why not then she says we can put that towards a membership and I said why if I already have a membership else where and want my money. she then proceeds to ignore the situation and I asked to speak to a manager or someone higher up and she says well Im the only that you can deal with.
