Sharky's is my daughter and my favorite fast-ist (made-up word) place to eat when we are eating without the hubbs. Generally speaking service is fast and friendly. On top of that the food is great. Because of these things in the many years we have been coming here I have never once had a poor experience - that is until tonight. I hate that I have not taken the time to write you all a good review, but please allow me to stress that I have been coming here at least once a month for ten years if not more; and it is not a stretch of the truth that in 120 months and at least 120 visits only one has been awful. Here's why. Number one, when my daughter and I walk in there was a really long line which is fine - we expected that. There was only one customer at the line being assisted, everyone else was in line. There was no sense of urgency from the employees behind the line. Typically, the employees are working with a hustle in their step and handling multiple orders at a time. Not today. No hustle. No more than one burrito at a time, literally not even for a mother ordering for her son - that customer was handled by two employees which seemed to slow down the line rather than speed it up. The employees were busy doing other things, I'll get to what in a moment. So, after waiting for a bit we get to the front to order, yay! The employee that helped my daughter was great. No complaints there. Then I get ready to order and the young lady with blue hair is the employee to assist me. I expect to be greeted with a smile when asked what I'd like, much to my surprise I was not. Shame on me. I can forgive the tone and look on her face as if I had bothered her, it was extremely busy and I get how that can wear a person down. What I find hard to forgive is when she asked if I wanted beans or potatoes and I responded that I wanted extra potatoes - miss had the audacity to roll her eyes and to not respond. She also, did not ask me what size steak I'd like she just gave me the smaller one. So, she is potentially costing you all money with poor customer service and eye rolls don't make a customer feel valued. Plus, she is not adding revenue by shopping for her customers. The next thing is that the restaurant was filthy, no clean tables - again it was filthy. We found a place to sit and a tall blonde guy makes his way to the back to sweep and clean tables, when a red-headed girl comes back to the back distracting him and even says to him hey let's check the score of the Bama game. They proceed to come stand next to our table for about 5 minutes watching the game. NOWW, I see why there was a single customer being served when we walk in - because while she was distracting him with watching the game there was a 2-fold line and dirty tables every where. Then, the very last thing - the steak was incredibly tough today so tough in fact it had the feel of beef jerkey. No one seemed to care, so I just picked it out and ate my potatoes. Please fix this Sharkys, I honestly love your restaurant- it is literally my date spot with my baby girl and I love the culture of your business - but, I did not feel valued tonight. And, I got the feeling that maybe the cat was away and the mice were playing...

Read moreSo I was born in Amarillo but moved out to Virginia, and came back to visit family. They told me to try sharky's because they know I like Chipotle. Chipotle is expensive, hit or miss, but it gets the job done. I walk in and I'm like ok I kind of got the idea how to order. The girl lists off the stuff and I'm lost, I apologize and say I'm new and she explains all the stuff and what they charge for.
Potatoes?? Oh hell yeah. I lock eyes with the Barbacoa. I'm about to meet God I can feel it. This giant ass burrito with queso, guac, the works, is around 17$. This would've been like 30$ at Chipotle. AND IT CAME WITH CHIPS???
So I get home and take a single bite and I'm pissed. I'm so angry. Because this is the best burrito I've ever tasted. I know I will never be able to eat it again when I get back to Virginia. I deleted that burrito, I did unspeakable things to that burrito. I cannot begin to describe how good the combo of potatoes+Barbacoa was. Everything with it? Hell if Jesus made me a meal it would be that burrito. I'm considering quitting my job and staying here just for that burrito.
I'm already planning my next visit so I can eat another one. If you live here I beg of you to come here and eat it for me, think of me as you eat it so I can feel the vibes from across the country.
So anyways sharky's can you expand to Virginia Beach...
