Dairy Queen Store — Restaurant in Ames

Let me preface this review by saying that I think it's pretty clear that this DQ is focused on skimping on Bizzard toppings. I belong to the DQ club where I get a BOGO coupon almost monthly, so I eat a medium blizzard once a month (and sometimes more). For the past six months this particular DQ has had the least amount of toppings on their Blizzards compared to Roseville, MN, Faribault, MN, and North Ames. Last night I went to the Lincoln Way DQ and got a Blizzard that was so awful I almost wrote this review yesterday. I gave them another chance to redeem themselves today. I got their monthly special Chocolate Dipped Strawberry. I can tell you that there isn't much chocolate. It's a cup of strawberry ice cream with minuscule pulverized specs of chocolate. It's not that the chocolate was just over blended. It definitely was not included in a sufficient quantity. I will not go to this location again, and you shouldn't either. Also, out of all the DQ locations I have EVER been to, this one has the most morose employees...

First off. Manners were horrible. Nobody was welcoming and they are so rude. Don’t think I saw one person smile. The slowest service ever. My friend found a hair in her blizzard after remaking my friends blizzard THREE TIMES cause they couldn’t get it right. which seems like a common thing in the reviews and noticed they don’t have hair nets on. GROSS… asked a bunch of questions about the menu and the response we got was a I DONT KNOW. You should know the menu. Also, they told us they just want to get people out and we’re going to lock the door if we didn’t leave. If I could I would rate it a 0 review. Never go to the Dairy...

quality has dramatically decreased, ordered chicken strips meals, we got: -six small fragments of chicken -two honey mustard cups, one had a punctured lid -one and a half ranch cups, one had been dumped in the bag -sundaes that were, inexplicably, greasy. we had ordered extra fudge, we got less than usual on both -sodas were weak in flavor and had a definitive mint taste to it, they were both root beer -onion rings were acceptable

normally the food is about what you'd expect, this was below our lowest of expectations, the food was more of a snack and the drinks were disgusting, all of this for $18. not...
