Disappointing. My husband, kids and I chose this place because it's my husbands favorite BBQ chain. We are passing through and had never been to this particular location before. Our 2 star review is because the food was good but we didn't get all of what we ordered. It was raining so my man dropped us off and went to park. I had our baby and diaper bag in tow and getting to the door I noticed a young man holding the inside door wide open for no one. So I got the door for myself and the kids in the rain and he was just standing there like he was doing me a big favor having the next door open for us. Anyways, moving on the hostess told me it was a 5 minute wait and asked me (seriously) if that would be alright. I jokingly told her yep, I think we can handle a 5 minute wait. The hostess took this as an insult. So while my family sat down to wait my husband walked in and the young man hurried up and opened the door for him. You know... because he was carrying nothing. LOL! Anyways. Then a woman who looked like manager came out to tell the hostess that she knows it looks to customers like they aren't really busy but the to go orders are just overwhelming. (My group were the only people waiting) We weren't even complaining. It was just a weird comment. Then we were seated. They knew we needed a highchair and thoughtfully they had already brought one to the table. It was unfortunately covered in stuck on food and God knows what. I started cleaning it with sanitary wipes from the diaper bag so I could put my daughter in. The waitress asked me for my drink order, while still cleaning the highchair I asked if they had any NA beer. She looked at me like I had 3 heads. Then she laughed and said I don't know what that is. And I explained its beer without alcohol also called non alcoholic beer. She laughed at me and asked if they really even make that. Ugh. Then I asked her for a hot, wet, soapy cloth to clean the highchair. She says oh, is it dirty? And offered to get me a different one. I declined because I'd probably have to clean that one too. Plus, Omg. I had been cleaning it through our entire conversation. Then another waiter came by and asked what I had a question about and she said I think she wants beer without alcohol? I asked him if they had an NA selection. He told me they only have O'douls. I said ok I'll have one. Then the waitress told me she was new so she doesn't know about things like that. Then she brought me a nasty, cold, wet rag with grease and bbq sauce all over it. I handed it back and said I'll be fine. I had to wash my hands anyways. Whatever. Then we ordered... insert eyeroll. The kids ordered first. My nephew likes to order off the kids menu. He was excited and hadn't been to a Famous Dave's before so he spied the deserts on his menu right away. The funny part is he actually circled everything he wanted with a green color crayon the waitress gave him on his menu. The food was great but my husband didn't get a cornbread muffin and his meal was supposedto come with one. And when my nephew ordered his vanilla sundae he received the adult version - not the $1.99 one off the kids menu that he ordered from and circled, this sundae was for 4 people and it had whip cream and chocolate all over it. He hated it and couldn't eat it. The waitress even noticed he wasn't eating it and when he told her he was done she told him she would come back after he had a few more bites. Insert another eyeroll... I was busy with my baby and didn't eat as fast as everyone else. At one point I was literally chewing and still had food in my mouth and she asked if I wanted a to go box. I said no and that I was still eating. When she walked away my husband and I joked that maybe we were being punked. It was so odd. She just didn't pick up on any social ques. We over tipped her in the hope that she will eventually put the extra cash towards an education. Other waitresses and waiters were great to their customers. We...
Read moreI tried famous Dave's about two years ago and the food was OK . But the next morning I was looking at my bank account and found out they charged me twice. When I called them they denied doing it even though I had their ATM number and bank statement. After 5 phone calls and a week of my time they finally refunded it. For two years I never went back. Then Saturday night we decided to give them another chance. Me and my fiance walked and was created by the hostess and she told us they would have to clean off a table. We said that's fine and took a seat in the waiting area rite next to the hostess counter. No more than a second our butts hit the bench another couple walked in. The same hostess that told us we had to wait quickly passed them on to a waitress and a way they went to a table. Upon the waitress quick return another couple walked and once again the same hostess created them and quickly had them escorted to a table. At that point we stood up and said apparently you are not going to serve us and we walked out. On the way to the car I was fuming and decided I wanted answers. So reentered the restaurant and requested to talk to the manager. The manager came and ask what was going on and we told her. She then asked the hostess whe responded she was waiting for a table in another section. The manager said nothing to the hostess about what had happened. The manager then turned to us and said she would get us a table at that point we kindly declined and went to chili's. My question to famous Dave's in Idaho falls is why the hell wasn't I good enough to sit in the other section. Feels like discrimination to me and I was being forced to the back of the bus cause...
Read moreWhat a visit! I had one of the best eating out experiences I've ever had. First and foremost, my hat is off to whoever hired and trained the staff here. I'll make mention of this a few times during the review. I came in and the warm greeting and quick seating was great. The waiter (Famous Travis, who lives up to his name) got our drinks and some BBQ chips and was very friendly. My drink never made it to below half before he was back and filling it up. We finished looking at the menus and had our orders taken soon after. Famous Travis overheard us commenting on the BBQ chips and the different sauces and went ahead and grabbed us a house made BBQ sauce that was fantastic! The meals came out hot and holy smokes. I have had dreams about the food since visiting. I had just a simple bacon cheeseburger. Every bite was amazing! It just kept getting better. I thought the experience was going to end there. One of the waitresses overheard my Girlfriend and me talking about being so happy to be done with finals and to have passed. Without warning a large plate of ice cream sundaes were placed in front of us by none other than Famous Travis, and him congratulating us on our surviving finals week and saying the dessert was on the house! My girlfriend and I could not believe this to be real! The check came and we weren't charged anything extra for Famous Travis, and the Staff's hospitality and fantastic service. I can not wait to come back here. The whole staff needs a raise. If you go, give a good tip! They deserve...
