Back in the day Johnny Carino's used to be a decent place to eat with quality food. We stopped going there when we noticed a severe declining quality of food as well as service. We chose to go today because really had a craving for Italian nachos and that is where we used to get them. First we were brought out the order made incorrectly and asked if we still want it, why would you even bring this to the table? It was Seymour appropriate if you came out and asked and then brought it if we said yes. Second, apparently if you want a sauce on the side they charge $2 but that is not stated in the menu that we could find, nor did the server make it known. We had to ask for the bread as it was forgotten about. We also use the coupon for a free pepperoni pizza for joining the e-club and it was also forgotten about and sitting on the counter until my husband loudly said there it is on the counter getting cold. We were overheard because on the other side of our booth were the servers and other workers who were perhaps eating or perhaps rolling silverware. During the time they were doing this they thought it would be most appropriate if they sat on the other side of us while talking trash about people and patrons. They were talking trash, especially the older gentleman, about the woman who is upset about paying $1.49 up charge for her Caesar salad that she apparently did not notice had enough charge on the menu. They also talked about avoiding customers. This is highly inappropriate. The place itself is filthy. Food and drink splattered all over the wall next to your table. The table was oily and not cleaned properly. The server brought out two plates and the plate with the oil which the oil had spilled down the two clean plates and under the plate so everywhere that plate went covered the table in oil. She also cleared a table across from us without practicing any safe standards. She brought a plate from another table set it on a clean table then took the plates from her table across from us and also set it on that cleaned table, this is called cross-contamination. Once she served our nachos she asked if we needed anything. A minute later she passed by and asked if everything was fine and other than the horrible quality and lack of meat, it was. The nachos were a combo of chicken and sausage and the sausage where the tiniest crumbles and the chicken looked like a deli roasted chicken That Was Then sliced on a meat slicer. It did not look like the chicken they used to serve on the nachos and it was not the sausage that they used to use. She then came back after we were done eating the nachos to ask how everything was, a little late for that. Our Waters were topped off but not with more ice so then we had warm waters. As always, the utensils were dirty they hadn't been wiped and you no longer receive cloth napkins you receive paper napkins which are insufficient and not good quality. The $2 up charge for the sauce was removed from our ticket. Fortunately the pizza was free because there's no way we would have paid $19 for the trash that we got. The crust wasn't good there were lots of burn marks as well as soot on the top of it. The toppings were grossly insufficient and near nothing on the pizza. We actually took the toppings off and cut one of the crusts off of a slice and ate our toppings with that crust piece. We can confidently say we will never come back and that should make everyone happy, right? And let me add when we were there it was dead there were no tables to be taken care of so there's no excuse for late or warm refills, food not being brought out promptly, or errors in an order or item. Also, your hair should be pulled back and not completely down to your shoulders falling forward in front of your face as you serve our table. But hey, apparently this is the Idaho way and in Idaho the state apparently does not have random undercover checks from the state at these...
Read moreWe went mid-day on a Saturday. Not very many people were in the restaurant. We got our beverages quickly, offered to order appetizers with drinks though we declined. She came back a little later, we placed the order. She brought us our salads and some super awesome bread. It was crispy outside, soft inside, and the seasoning in the oil made it fantastic. When we got our meal, my Spicy Shrimp and Chicken was great. Just the heat from cayenne, no fancy peppers or chili oil. It made the cream sauce have a zing without overpowering everything else the dish had going for it. The shrimp was not overcooked and the chicken was thin sliced which was great because it was easier to get more than jslust chicken in those bites. My sister got the Mama' Spaghetti Feast. If you are hungry, get this one. It came with 4 large, well-seasoned meatballs that went very well with the buloignaise sauce. It also came with a good portion of Italian sausage that had good seasoning but not too overpowering. We both took home food and my sister is currently working on meal three, the fest lived up to it's name. I should mention that the buloignaise sauce is one of the best I have tasted including the 30 kinds I tasted at a contest in Florida. I was surprised to see so many one star reviews based on my experience. I think they truly deserved 5 stars on my visit. I have never been before and it has been about 12 years since my sister went (she lives far away) and she says it was just as good as...
Read moreFood was vastly below our expectations for the amount of money we spent. The staff was also very unprofessional, both in the way they dressed, presented themselves, and took care of us. This happened on a Friday night. When we initially walked in, we were hit by this odd antique store smell. The waitress that took care of us completely blew us off. I was literally in the process of asking her for more water when she turned around and walked off. I'm sure, or I'm at least hoping, this wasn't intentional but it definitely showed a lack of attentiveness and desire to do a good job. When we received our food the chicken was rubbery and the squash tasted like propane... How on earth does that even happen?? The one thing I would say that was good was the garlic bread, but that only came after asking for it. Honestly, if you don't want to serve it then don't offer it along with the meal. Another thing I noticed as I looked out the window was how dirty the window and window pane was! This review may sound whiny but after experiencing each one of these things it added up to us having a pretty poor experience. I used to love coming here and haven't been here for a few years, so it's sad to see that things have gone down hill. I don't know what the reason is for this decline, but one thing is for sure, they need to fix some things before I come back here and blow...
