Sabor Chilango — Restaurant in Anaheim

Staying near the convention center and was craving carnitas. Sabor Chilango was a 2 minute drive and had parking so we decided to try it. The place was clean and had a large tv with a soccer match playing when we first walked in. I don’t know if the server is the owner, but he was so friendly and attentive even though he was the only server and also answered the phones. He spoke Spanish and perfect English as well and we had nice conversations with him throughout our night. The food was delicious and the carnitas were great! We started with chips and guacamole which also came with chicharrones. The server also brought us some pico upon request. Everything looked and tasted homemade. We also got a free little cup of soup which was yummy.

Now dinner…Let me start by saying that the prices were good for the portions we received. Everything was hot and fresh too.

1. Cuban sandwich- this was really a Cuban sandwich inspired torta since it came with tomatoes and avocado but had nice chunks of pork and it was delicious and gigantic! I honestly think 3 people could have eaten this.
2. chilaquiles- A very hearty portion and kind of deconstructed presentation. Everything wasn’t piled together, which we actually preferred. 2 large pieces of a skirt steak (I think), 2 eggs cooked to order, the tortilla pieces (chose the green sauce which had a good kick to it without being too spicy) refried beans and rice. It was very tasty and again so big that there were still beans and rice leftover.
3. 5 tacos large size- (4 carnitas and 1 carne asada). Tortillas were homemade and each came with cilantro and onions, but you could customize this. The steak and carnitas were tender and flavorful and they didn’t skimp on the portions.

I would highly recommend Sabor Chilango if you’re looking for homemade Mexican food. Everything, from the server to the food was fantastic. Don’t let the little plaza’s appearance deter you from enjoying this restaurant. Unpretentious,...

I have been looking for chilango restaurants with excellent food, and this place is definitely one of my new top favorites!! We drove from Murrieta to Anaheim to try this place out, and it definitely did not disappoint. All the food was very freshly made. We were served a complimentary cup of sopita de fideo, and the broth was excellently savory, with the fideo nicely cooked. Then we received our order of chips and guacamole, which was also well prepared. The guacamole was served in a molcajete, which was something new for me. Then our food came in, and wow was it delicious!! Our party ordered chilaquiles, chilaquiles chilango, a pambazo, tacos dorados, and a huarache. I personally ordered the huarache, and it was clearly handmade and prepared fresh. The beans were probably the best I've ever eaten, and the steak was seasoned perfectly. Eating the food with horchata was so delicious!! Everyone got full with their dishes.

I would highly recommend this place. It serves authentic chilango food (with some exclusive dishes from D.F.), and has wonderful customer service. I would definitely go back again if I'm in the Anaheim area!! Added bonus: it’s by...

Let me start by saying as soon as we walked in we were greeted by Antonio who has the best customer service! Then we got to choose where we wanted to sit and were brought menus, then he brought our drinks and an amazing little soup una sopita de fideos pero Hecho como en casa. Then when our food came out everything was fresh and super flavorful!!! I can’t stress on how important it is to me for our server to ask if we need anything else or if everything is going well Antonio went above and beyond for us. My mojarra/whole fish was cooked to perfection crispy outside and nice soft inside it was perfect!
