Karen, Shaoli, Soomin @ front desk helped us tremendously with room options and answered a bazillion of my (and kiddos) questions.
Room -
Stayed in room 2034: awesome center pool view, where we could watch the evening family movies from the comfort of our room balcony.
Pool -
heated to AMAZING temp compared to all 3 Disney resort pools, kiddos loved the temp of this pool the most because it was consistently warm. No it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like slides etc. but it was perfect! They also put on kid cartoons on their pool projector.
Also loved that as a single coparent, I had full visibility of both kiddos swimming between both pools at all times instead of having to stress over viewing obstacles for safety check-ins.
Food -
Tangerine - breakfast buffet was included; very decent. In between lower basic level and higher fancy level. Good enough!
Bella’s Splash Pool Bar - loved their fresh fruit platter, poke, and kid cheeseburger meal. Filling and fresh!
Blossom Cafe & Market - coffee shop + gift shop in one stop hallelujah. Has a very good selection compared to their other Marriott hotel location gift shop (JW Marriot Anaheim).
Rise rooftop -
Had oysters and pepperoni pizza. High quality food! The price is pricey…but I guess that’s what you have to pay for the theme park view (inc: fireworks if there for dinner at the right time) and location!
8th Floor Club Fireworks viewing -
worth it if you want to watch fireworks in your jammies and have champagne + night treats like s’more desserts & popcorn. You won’t be able to hear the show’s music etc, but you’ll see the fireworks with unobstructed views. At the time of posting it was $50 for party of 4. You get to access their area from 9-10PM. Fireworks are usually around 9:30PM, so you can hang out on the patio or inside couches with friends/fam.
Parking -
Okay…this is steep, however, you’re next to a convention center and Disneyland soooo it makes sense. Valet is $55 and self parking is $45. Depending on your sitch, it might be better to cough up the extra $10 for convenience since price is SO close to one another. Darn to their sneaky business model here.
Overall -
loved this hotel for the price point, amenities, ease of access to everything local. Walking distance to Disneyland/Downtown Disney (it’s across the street!), much to Anaheim convention center, near yummy restaurants like Fleming’s if you’re seeking fancy or like McD’s if super low key casual. Or places like Walgreens, Target etc.
It’s one of the best options outside of the 3 on-site Disney resort for at least half the room price.
Would rather stay here again than the JW Anaheim by the Toy Story Parking Lot / Cheesecake Factory /...
Read moreOur family stay at the Westin Anaheim location embodied the brand at its' best. From start to finish, the service and staff were kind, professional, and expedient. The entrance was grand, and the concierge and valet immediately helped us upon arrival and quickly took care of our luggage. We arrived too early to check in and this was not a problem at all to handle our luggage which quickly appeared in the room within minutes of our later check-in after we passed time for the room to be ready with a delicious lunch at the nearby onsite restaurant - Puesto. Once we arrived at the room, it was exactly as the pictures depicted and the view was great. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable - well priced to the quality. A holiday party was booked on the roof the first night of our arrival which is understandably going to happen from time to time especially this time of year. It was only one night, and we didn't intend to use the rooftop on this visit so this wasn't a miss for us at all. The best part was that staff assured us the time the event would wind down at 10:30, which was very reasonable and allowed us to plan accordingly and still make sure we had good sleep for the next morning at the park. The next evening we enjoyed great conversation with a bartender who was a theater aficionado named Donna who made great quality cocktails themed to the holidays. My wife and I enjoyed these from the sophisticated and casual lounge, and we used the in-room for breakfast the next day from their hotel/restaurant dining option which was delicious and had healthy options that were thoughtful and tasty. Check-in, check-out, and all accommodations were smooth, and the property was well maintained and enhanced the atmosphere of our travel experience. We opted to walk to the parks which was not far at all, though the downtown Disney entrance was the shorter route it wasn't completely intuitive due to the cross-street bridge entrance from the Disneyland hotel property. This was just fine after the first time which we first did the evening of arrival and it was well lit at this time of year with Christmas lights on the palms. If you follow the signs it's a little awkward walk but easy. Overall great stay and would visit again. A step up from the similarly nice but not quite as competitive stay at the nearby JW Marriot. This Westin honors the brand, and we can't wait to try out some of the other delicious food options on this beautiful palm tree-lined property...
Read moreThe Westin has everything going for it and has been our preferred hotel when visiting Disneyland since it opened a few years ago. We can't really think of anything negative to say about it, So the negative point below is the best we could come up with.||Pros:|1. Great location on W Katella Avenue. We just love the tree-lined avenue which gives you the feeling of being on vacation as soon as you arrive. Only 10-15 min walk from downtown Disney or the park entrances. Turn left to go to Downtown Disney and turn right for the fastest route to the park entrances. Both take you about the same amount of time but going left and then north on Disneyland Dr is quieter and not crowded which is the route we prefer if we are not rushing to get into the parks.||2. Curb appeal and valet: The hotel looks and feels like a high end resort just from the entrance. The valets are friendly and fast - what else can you ask for ? The lobby is spacious and welcoming. Elevators are efficient - we didn't have to wait more than a minute every time. In general, the hotel has a high end feel and ambiance. If you don't like hotels with busy chaotic lobbies and a lot of noise, this is the hotel for you.||3. Rooms are quiet. We didn't hear anything next door in the three days we were there. The Westin Heavenly bed is very comfortable, AC works great and kept the room cool at night which is how we like it.||4. Rise Rooftop serves great food and drinks and has an amazing view of the park and fireworks at night. ||5. Concierge Lounge: Wow ! You don't often get this type of welcome at many high end Marriott hotels. The two attendants (sorry but I did not catch their names) made us feel special each morning, always greeting us with a smile as we exchanged a few comments. We didn't make use of the lounge other than at breakfast but they have various food and drinks laid on throughout the rest of the day.||in general, all the staff we met from the front desk to the bars staff were extremely friendly.||6. Lobby bar is high end and is open until midnight which allows you to grab a few drinks (and a bite to eat) after getting back late from the parks. ||Cons:|We had to think hard of something negative to say here. So here it is - the slippers provided in the rooms have these little non-slip beads on the soles which make a lot of noise when walking on the wood floors. It may be better if they were replaced with one which did not have...
