Terrible Service and Rude Behavior

This has been one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I’ve had. My husband, daughter, and I live near Beechmont and had been loyal customers of this place for over a year, visiting once or twice a week. But we stopped going several months ago after a very rude encounter with a short waiter who wears glasses. We informed the two managers—one man and one woman usually at the front counter—but they didn’t even apologize or show the slightest concern. That was disappointing enough for us to stop going.

After months away, my husband decided to give them another try today and stopped in for a buffet takeout. He told the girl at the front that he wanted buffet to-go, and she handed him a bowl and a card. No one explained anything about pricing. He selected the food and gave it to the cook to prepare. When it was done, the same girl began weighing the food. He asked why, and she said, “To-go orders are weighed.” That was the first time anyone mentioned this. He told her he didn’t want it then, since the price was unclear and no one had informed him ahead of time. She said nothing and just let him walk out.

What kind of customer service is this? If you sit and eat the same buffet in the restaurant, you pay a flat $15. But if you take it to go, they weigh your food and charge more—without even telling you in advance. That’s dishonest.

Their communication is awful, and clearly, management doesn’t care. I looked online and saw that others have complained about their terrible customer service too. We won’t...

10 members of my family ate lunch at Yummy Bowl yesterday, 4 now have food poisoning. We had multiple issues with our visit, here are the food safety / service issues:

Raw food stacked way too high in the self serve chiller. This means that all the raw meat on top isn't properly refrigerated and is being stored in the temperature danger zone where bacteria multiplies exponentially. Every raw meat was stored his way. Had an employee reach his hand into the middle of our table to grab a salt shaker for another guest without so much as an "excuse me". To be clear, there were maybe 20 empty tables he could've done that from, and we were all in the middle of our meal, just felt a bit rude. Not a single one of the three cooks washed their hands or changed their gloves the entire time we were there. Every single one was seen touching his face or mask with the gloves on before then touching food. I watched our server take noodles that were hanging off the edge of my bowl on the counter with his bare hands and put them back in the bowl before bringing them to our table. Our server never said any kind of greeting or really anything at all to us, he just walked up, stood there until we ordered and left, not the biggest deal but then when he came back with our drinks he just set them all in the middle of the table so we got to play "guess which drink is yours".

All in all, stay away if you value the health of your gut and the quality of your service, at least from...

Extremely Poor Service This is one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. My wife, daughter, and I have been living near Beechmont and had been regular customers at this restaurant for over a year, visiting once or twice a week. However, we stopped going several months ago after encountering extremely rude behavior from a short waiter with glasses. We reported the incident to the two managers—one male and one female—who are usually at the reception counter, but neither apologized nor assured us that it wouldn’t happen again.

After months of staying away, I decided to give them another chance today and stopped by for a buffet takeout. When I told the girl at the counter I wanted the buffet to-go, she simply handed me a bowl and a card. I took what I wanted from the buffet and gave it to the cook to prepare. I was sitting and waiting when she suddenly began weighing the food. I asked why, and she said, “We weigh to-go orders.” I told her that no one had mentioned this earlier, and that if it’s being charged by weight, I didn’t want it. She said nothing, and I left.

It makes no sense: if you eat the same food in the restaurant, you pay a flat $15, but if you take it to go, the price increases based on weight. The lack of poor communication is unacceptable. It seems like the business is being poorly managed, which is reflected in the many negative reviews online about their customer service. Very...

This place is awesome! For $15 you can get the bowl. They give you a bowl and you select if you want steamed rice or fried rice. You put your name and table number on it. Then you take your bowl with you paper up to the bar. You to load your bowl as much as you can with a wide arrange of noodles, vegetables, and meats. So many vegetables to choose from. You can get up to 2 eggs per bowl (keep the whole eggs on the side on your tray, not in the bowl). I'm not a big fan of vegetables so my bowl gets filled up with meat! I did add some pineapple chunks which was a great addition to the meat, as well as a few carrots. I usually get chicken thigh, chicken breast, beef chunks, and steak. Then you have the seasonings. You put as much of whatever seasonings you want on top of the meat. Then the sauce bar. You get little cups to fill up with sauce, then they will add the sauce to your food as you cook it. We always have leftovers. No sharing of the bowls is permitted. They also have a full menu to choose from as well but the bowl is definitely the best value.

Yummy Bowl Mongolian Grill is fairly new in Anderson. If you are new, they will explain how the Mongolian Grill experience works. You will select your raw ingredients from a fresh, cafeteria-style selection, filling a bowl with the vegetables and meats you would like included. After adding the seasonings and sauces you prefer, one of the chefs takes your bowl and prepares it for you as you wait back at your table. You also have an opportunity to order ala carte and from a complete sushi menu. We had two yummy bowls prepared as well as a Tiger Roll and Ahi Tuna from the sushi menu. All freshly prepared and excellent. Besides the excellent food, the price for this meal was welcome. It wasn’t much more than you would now pay with today’s inflated prices at a fast food restaurant. Remarkable value and fun experience. Always tables available when we go, so give it a try!
