IHOP — Restaurant in Anderson

Good morning. I'm hoping this will reach Anderson SC I'm not sure it directly goes or not however this needs to be heard by all! I was in your location yesterday morning around 730 right after opening. Not to busy right. When we got there we were greeted by what I assume was a manager he apologized he was short staffed , no big deal! I work in a diner where I'm the only server 80% of the time we were fine. There was one other table inside sat. We were greeted by a sweet lady named Victoria who got our drinks and order. A few minutes go by and more tables are coming in and I see Victoria is the only server on the floor. Short staffed I understood. We were completely fine. Then it got chaotic. Multiple tables sat at once she was hosting and serving tables. Victoria seemed to get a little in the weeds but was doing everything as fast as she could being one person. More tables come in. Shes getting slammed for one person. At this point I asked her if I could get up and get a drink order for her or if i could do anything to help her in which she thanked me but she was okay I let her know she had two tables she hadn't see that had been sat. She was running circles around the restaurant at this point but was as calm as possible. I finished my food and sat for about 45 minutes to watch and make sure she was okay as the manager had to be in the kitchen because he had two new cooks. He was helping as much as possible when I get up to pay they both have apologized by multiple times we were fine! I then was told this was the first day victoria had ever served tables she was a host and was I assume supposed to be training and ended up being the only worker. WOW! I was shocked. This sweet girl never showed she had never served a table, she never lost her child, she was so calm, very apologetic and even after getting in the weeds she made sure everyone was greeted and taken care of. She never once let the busyness get the best of her I mean seriously. IHOP you have a complete GEM in Victoria. After what I witnessed yesterday this girl deserves a raise for sure. She was awesome and I hope she will continue to serve tables! I was blown away by her considering the circumstances she was thrown into. You go girl! Keep up the good work with an attitude like that you will make KILLER MONEY and it will take no time to build regulars that will come to see you time and time again! IHOP you truly have an awesome server on...

10/4/2025 - Makinley was our server today 🥰. She provided the BEST service that we have had in a very long time, anywhere. She is polite, attentive, and always had a smile on her face even with the place packed out!!!! Thank you Makinley for helping to change our minds about IHOP. The good was also excellent today! The kitchen staff was hussleing and slinging that food out 🫰🏼Great work everyone! Everyone that I saw in the restaurant today was helping each other! Excellent team work! That is how it should be. We are all of your customers not just the one at your table/section. Great work today IHOP 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Long wait times as usual. This is our 1st time back here since it reopened. Finally got to get a table. Dinning room floor dirty! Napkins and food under the tables. One of the hosts is not wearing a mask, only faceshield. This does NOTHING!!! It is also short just barely at her nose. If you work in the service industry wear a mask! If you cannot tolerate a mask find another job! You are a wonderful working, but this is complete disrespect for your co-workers and customers! Noticed a couple of servers and another host only wearing the mask over their mouth, just below their nose. We are still here, waiting. Longer wait to get the food than ever before! I think we have been here more than an hour now. Where is the manager?!!!?!?!! I don't think we will be back again! So, we finally got our food. The food is the best it has ever been! Too bad the rest of the business is terrible! To our server, Jakarta, you are awesome! Thank you for the wonderful service...

We love IHOP. We eat here frequently and in other states and towns. This restaurant is poorly organized and slow every time we go there. We tend to go on Sunday early lunch. I understand this is a busy time for any restaurant and I do take that into consideration when making the following comments.

Waiter was slow, unorganized and did not check on us before our food came 40 minutes after we ordered. He then proceeded to explain why it was not his fault it was late without having all of it with him. Food did not come out as described in menu. Had to ask for extras that should have been on the plate. My coffee cup was dirty, ham and cheese omelet had almost no ham. Service continued to be almost nonexistent.

My husband who NEVER complains to anyone but me asked to see a manager which took over 15 more minutes before she showed up and we had to ask again to see her. She was very apologetic and did give us our meal free but really had little explanation or reassurance that it would not happen again. My husband did proceed to tell her he had seen our waiter use his hands to put pancakes back on a plate in the window where he was to pick up our food. It was not our food, thank heavens.

Not sure how long it will be before we eat at this IHOP again. Must say this was one the worst restaurant experiences we have ever...
