2 out of three items I tried were bad. I started with a ~$12 special sushi roll, a variation of a crunch roll, which tasted decent for its small size. Then they brought out the $10 Takoyaki... which was soggy, had less than one cubic centimeter of octopus in each, and they didn't put the right sauce on it... they put BBQ sauce. Instead of biting into a piping-hot savory seafood treat, I was met with a ketchupy, sugary, undercooked, seafood-flavored hushpuppy. I tried but could not force myself to finish.
Thankfully, the waitress eventually meandered back to my table and offered to exchange it for something else. I got the "fan favorite" fried ice cream, which admittedly was a first for me. It tasted incredibly cheap, and once again this dish had soggy (albeit more sugary) bread. Not good to my personal tastes. Maybe their fryer was bad? Or maybe the dish sat too long before being brought out? I can't know.
It may be that I've had enough good food to no longer tolerate what I used to... for a lot of standard-less people who eat whatever dog food they're given around here, they'll probably think this place is fine. But waiting for 20+ minutes at a time for a water refill or even the check meant I spent an hour and a half here when I should've risked a fast food joint instead.
I hope this was an off night that's not indicative of normal performance, but I won't return to test...
Read moreFood was good as usual. Server Trisha was absolutely wonderful. However the hostess was not. We wanted to sit outside as the weather was nice. The table was covered in pollen and bird poop as the outdoor seating area has no covers and the hostess handed us the menus and we asked her for a hot rag so we can wipe the table ourselves. She said “sure” and came back to wipe the table down- got the pollen off but didn’t get any of the bird poop.. just kind of smeared it around. We asked when our server got back for a rag to do it ourselves. The hostess comes back and says “my boss told me to do it this way.” She proceeds to wipe it again and my girlfriend said “thankyou so much we’ll be good now.” And the hostess goes “I hope so. Because I’m kind of busy.”
We offered not once but twice to clean the table ourselves. The dirty tables are unacceptable if the seating area is considered open. But the attitude from the hostess is absolutely uncalled for… definitely put a bad taste in our mouths. We will be...
Read moreMurasaki's conveniently located as an umbilical attachment to the mall. Unfortunately this is the best it has going for it. For how pricey it was, the food was sub-par. The $6 kids mac n' cheese is a box of Kraft with some frozen waffle fries, and they gave my 8 y/o son a girly, flowery bowl. The drink my wife ordered had hardly any kick to it. The soup had barely any taste, the vegetables just the same. I purposely chose a sushi ("Heaven") that had no avocado, as it was not listed; but then it had some. And the sushi's crunch was tacked on with some kind of breadcrumb equivalent. Service was also no good, leaving food on the table for too long and they weren't even busy. For $37 before tip, we got mac n' cheese, an entree, and one sushi roll, which came with seven. Given the options for sushi in the area, make the two-minute drive to another place. Oh, and the atmosphere is a weird mix of bar and old Asian decor, with just one...
