I started doing DoorDash to keep some income coming in. We live 25 miles outside of the delivery areas for these companies, and you aren't able to do any deliveries or accept any orders unless you are within the boundaries of these delivery areas. So in order to actually get orders, I have to drive a half hour from my home to a delivery area. This ends up being costly for gas, and puts extra wear and tear on my car.
Because of these additional costs for using my personal vehicle for business, I have started staying in hotels a few nights a week, because there are a few hotels that are right in the middle of the hotspots for delivery orders. Therefore, I save on gas, as I don't have to drive over 50 miles to and from home just to be able to accept deliveries. The best part is that these hotels are so close to the restaurants that use these delivery services, that I can actually relax in the hotel and receive and accept orders while sitting in an air-conditioned hotel room! Normally, in order to save gas and not drive around aimlessly, I usually park in a parking lot and wait for orders.
This hotel has been one of the more consistent as far the nightly rates go. When booking through Priceline, I was able to get a single King bed room for 2 adults for $58.00 total, and that was after taxes and fees. That is a great price, especially considering the rates that other hotels of the same quality are charging in the same area. Just to note, when I called the hotel to ask about the rates (before I looked on Priceline) the woman was extremely rude (which I will go into in a bit) and she quoted me at $86 dollars a night. $28 more for the same room and same nights.
So the problem with this hotel is not the rates. The issue here is the staff. The customer service here is non-existent. The young women who are at the front desk are some of the nastiest young women with some of the most disgusting attitudes ever. They must know that they have been getting horrible reviews on Google, because on the day that I checked in this most recent visit, she asked me if I could leave a positive review about her and about the hotel on Google. This was before I had even been handed my key for my room. That is a big red flag and makes guests extremely uncomfortable, trying to force them into leaving a good Google review before you have even checked in. If a hotel is clean and friendly and attentive, they don't need to beg for positive reviews in my opinion.
So the main issue here is with the staff. Every single time I have had to call or go to the front desk, they are extremely rude and act as if you are interrupting them. I booked a hotel for 3 nights, and for some reason I had to go to in every morning and have them redo my keys. I walked in and sat at the desk for over 10 minutes. There was no bell to ring to get service. I finally walked towards another part of the office and found the girl eating and she cussed me out because she was "on break", and said I wasn't allowed back there. I informed her my keys weren't working, and without even checking the system to confirm I had already paid for 3 nights, she told me I probably didn't pay my bill. Disrespectful. She realized she was wrong, reset my keys. I then informed her that one of the dryers was broken and it had taken $3 worth of my quarters. She told me that it was broke and to use the other one. I asked to have a maintenance guy come open it to give me my money back, and she stated that they don't have a maintenance man, and told me I wasn't getting a refund, and that I shouldn't have used that dryer.
Absolutely the worst customer service ever.
I suggest paying the extra $10 or $20 for a different hotel. I will be contacting corporate, as these girls need to be fired asap.
Also, I found one of the biggest roaches I've seen crawling on the floor. The girl said they dont have roaches and it...
Read moreThe room I initially stayed in was 229 (upstairs all the way to the back end of the building). I only stayed 2 hours and left. There were so many people wandering around the back of this hoodtel, I was honestly scared being a female there by myself. I saw several people go "set up camp" in the woods right behind the place. As I was leaving, I walked all the way to the stairwell at the front of the building because there was no way I was going to leave in the dark with all the hoodlums hanging around in the back for no reason. A friend of mine was in the room directly underneath me and had the same problems. Constant noise, a fight between 2 girls outside, police coming through and noise continued all night. I went back the next day with the intention of checking out but the girl at the front desk...who was WONDERFUL...told me she had another room available very close to the front and on facing the inside of the property (204). It was a welcomed change that night until once at 2AM and again at 4AM, someone was banging on my door and my window. Once it stopped I looked out the peephole, but saw no one. I decided to give it one more chance (last night) and was pleasantly surprised that all went well...although I did go ahead and check out a day early. I would NEVER stay there again and would NEVER advise anyone I know to stay there either. I was surprised it was that bad being right in the middle of town. My stay was due to being FEMA eligible so my hands were somewhat tied. But thankfully, I was able to call a friend and sleep on her floor the first night and will also be able to tonight. I travel often and have stayed in some places, even in Atlanta and Charlotte, that are Choice Hotels branded. Never had an issue. It is so discouraging that I had to realize that what I thought was a decent hotel in my own area was, excuse the stereotype, but a place with no one but meth heads constantly hanging...
Read moreWorst hotel I have ever booked. They were not ready for us when we arrived despite it being at 11:00 pm and after a 12 hour drive to get there. Room had not been vacuumed. something had spilled in the refrigerator and not cleaned, the door to one of the cabinets was completely torn off and laying next to the unit. The room smelled like smoke and the A/C was not working. The maintenance employee sent to look at it knocked on the door holding a plastic food container, eating food and was literally licking his fingers. I could not tell if he was an employee or guest as he was wearing a dirty t-shirt and a pair of athletic shorts. Said he just dragged the unit up to the room a couple hours ago and then proceeded to kick it and push it with his leg in an effort, I guess, to get it working?||||Eventually another woman came to the door, again could not tell if she worked there or not, asked if we wanted another room so that we would not be sweating all night with no AC. We were already on the phone looking for another hotel but in the mean time were taken down to another room and said the maintenance guy would bring the key to us to get in. However, 20 minutes later, after not seeing anyone else from the hotel, we had secured another room and went to the front desk and informed them that we were leaving. On our way out of the parking lot, we did see out maintenance guy sitting on the other side of the hotel hanging out with a few other people. So much for getting the key. We had already decided could not stay here by that point so that was irrelevant at that point. Just another data point to tell you how bad this place was. It is not worth the time or aggravation at any price for this place. We ended up 30 minutes further away than where we wanted to be but in a much...
