Had the Cuban. Regretted it. Wife had the ribeye. Also regretted it.
The meats(?) in the Cuban were clearly previously frozen and tasted like it. Beyond that flavor, there was none. I also had the "seasoned" waffle fries. I mistakenly expected them to be seasoned. They were not. I'm not even totally sure they were salted. Also, my order of "seasoned" waffle fries consisted of 50% waffle fries, 25% regular fries, and 25% what I believe were the crumbs of tater tots that were scooped out of the bottom of the deep fryer.
The ribeye was beaten flat and resembled a cheap sirloin more than any ribeye I've ever seen. It was also grossly overcooked and flavorless. I mean, seriously. How hard is it to cook a steak?
Step 1) salt Step 2) pepper Step 3) show it some form of heat Step 4) throw on a plate and serve.
If you miss any of those steps, or find yourself using a hammer, you're doing it wrong.
For $85 for the two of us I kind of expected more. I've had better at dive bars for half what we spent here.
Also, their "two for ones" is comical. You pay $8 for one and then get one "free."
Similar to "free" healthcare, or "free" college.
I gave it two stars because I haven't started vomiting yet. I'll come back and remove a star if (when?) that starts.
We obviously will not be back, and I would suggest that anyone who appreciates food that tastes like food to avoid this place as well.
UPDATE - Re: Willy's response
First - I'm glad you were able to discern that we did not have a good experience, because you are correct. No, I did not speak to management because we were part of a large group. Had it just been us, I absolutely would have.
Second - You say that it "comes in fresh, not frozen." What you're implying is that it's seasoned and cooked to order. Is that correct? Because what I suspect this actually means, when I read between the lines, is that you receive it "fresh," cook it, and then freeze it. If it were cooked to order, and never frozen, you would have said exactly that, because restaurants typically pride themselves on that.
There's no way what I had was not frozen prior to me ordering it. No way. And based on the delightful freezer burned flavor profile, I suspect that it had been frozen for quite some time.
Third - Beer prices. I did not order craft beer, which I would agree.. at $4/beer for craft, that is a good price. What I ordered was Coors Light. So no, $4/Coors Light is not...
Read moreI used to come here mostly in the summer but came after a movie tonight, prices increased by about $3 per meal. However, the sandwich was Ok, not enough cheese to see - after showing the waitress that there wasn't sufficient amount of. I was also disappointed with the small side of fries (again, their 'portion size'that came with the meal.) Many were side corner slender pieces and not very many as there used to be. Anyway, I mentioned this to the waitress who rarely came around even tho it wasn't very busy, listening to the really hoky country music was irritating to listen to. (Nothing middle of the road or any blues notes) at all. My main complaint was how I was treated, and after I voiced my opinion I was largely ignored. I did not order a drink, just water. They made a big deal about bringing any more fries, like everything - had to go thru the manager. I was charged $1 for 1 slice of cheese, (with no foretelling) and were gonna charge extra $2 for bringing any more fries. So I declined. Having been a business owner, whatever happened to the motto: The customer is always right? It no longer exists! All these restaurants in the North Metro are only here to gouge customers and try to embarrass you if you complain, Even something trivial, and I am not gonna go out and spend alot of money only to be cheated, belittled and make a big deal out of small issues! I would rather stay home and make better food myself, than to go out for an evening thinking I'll have a good night only to find sassy kids less than half my age ridicule me over a few dollars. So, from now on, unless I am in Roseville or Maple Grove or Plymouth, I'll cook for myself and save the headaches! Which is quite a drive away, and kind of a...
Read moreLet me preface by saying that I realize this is a chain bar and grill so, expectations were low. My family just moved to the area and we were starving otherwise we probably would have gone somewhere else.
First, we asked for a booth and were seated at a table that looked out of place by the kitchen. Oh well. We approached by a waitress that didn't ask how we were, didn't say hi, introduce herself, nothing just "what can I get for you?" We started with waters and ordered an appetizer when she brought the waters. She came by a couple minutes later and took our dinner order.
10-15 minutes later someone else brought us our dinner, no appetizer. Fine. We asked to have the waitress sent to our table to order drinks. She never came. We finished our meals in about 10 minutes with the waitress never asking how our food was or if we needed anything else. She grabbed our empty plates, we asked for a bill, and all she said was "Thanks". She wasn't rude but, DEFINITELY not friendly either.
I can deal with bad service if the food is stellar. It was far from that. The chicken sandwich was dry, chewy, and devoid of any seasoning. The sandwich my dad had was cold. His tater tots were rock hard while my fries were soggy. My ol lady had some pot sticker things that she said were rather flavorless as well.
We are new in town and were looking for a new 'go-to' for our nights out. Guess we will keep on looking and I strongly suggest you...
