Siam Table — Restaurant in Ankeny

I was in there about 6 months ago and the service was awful. We were hungry for Thia food today and so I thought I would give them another chance. I called and ordered my food specifically letting the lady know that I could not handle spicy food so I wanted just enough for flavoring. I also told her how my son wanted his food cooked. It was wrong. Not only was it wrong but when I called to talk to her she said I never told her how to make the food. She tried to argue with me. I was just going to see about having it remade but there was no way after the way I was treated. Then she said she would void the order and send someone to get the food from my home. I told her that was fine but I wanted a copy of the voided receipt. She said she would only void the order after the driver got back. I told her no way that the driver needed to bring me the copy of the void. I will never go here again. IT sucks! Oh yeah and then when the driver came to get the food it showed only part of the money refunded. They tried to "steal"over $20.00 from me. When I called back and asked for the receipt again she argued with me saying I didn't tell her about the other food.On top of that I had to have my 16 year old drive back up there to get a receipt for the refund because she refused to send it out to me. I ONLY Ordered 2 meals....Can't wait for the remodel at Nut Pub to be done. NUT PUB has great staff...

Our waitress was an older woman with glasses. She was quite passive towards us during our stay - to the point of not acknowledging my mom's birthday after I told her we were there to celebrate. After dinner, and after our checks were settled, we were mid conversation when she came by and bussed our water glasses (all that was left on the table)... Anyone that knows serving knows this is a passive aggressive way to say "get out." The dining room was closing in 20 minutes. I know from experience that once the checks are settled, you don't need to kick people out 20 minutes before you close up. Afterall, we had only been there for an hour and 20 minutes - not an unreasonable amount of time to sit down for a dinner.

Not to mention the restaurant was empty most of the night. We were the only ones in there from 6:30 to 7:45 (when we left).

They have 3 options for spice. None, medium, hot. I ordered medium but in no way shape or form should a medium immediately start burning your mouth as soon as it touches your tongue.

The other dishes ordered were pretty bland based on the consensus of the table.

Would recommend driving to the other side of town for Silk Elephant. Much better service,...

I really love this place and I've been here several times BUT today I called and it was 5 minutes until lunch was over (and my order was to-go) and I asked first if I could still order lunch and they said yes. I ordered my lunch and then I asked what the add-on lunch special was and they said "1 eggroll and soup or 2 eggrolls, etc" so I said I would take an eggroll and soup.. They asked what kind of soup.. I asked if they had like a hot & spicy soup and they said yes... So I went to pick it up and got back to work. The soup looked like just broth with a TON of red pepper in it and a few mushrooms.. so I tried it and I almost choked! It was SO SPICY I couldn't even breath!!! They never asked me what "spice level" i wanted for the soup and I felt like on their level of 1-6 this was a 10! I tried again to see if it was just me and immediately started coughing and my lips went numb from the heat and I had to chug my bottle of water!!! I don't know if this was done on purpose because I ordered 5 minutes before lunch was over (I really hope not) -- and I read ALL of the soup descriptions on the menu and this did NOT match any of them... this really put a damper on my thoughts of the...
