First, a note, mochi = rice flour. Mochinut = mochi donut. The hotdogs on the menu are explicitly labeled Rice Hotdog. Of course they’re going to be different than a dunkin donut or a corn dog! (These are not gluten/wheat free however. Check the website for details.) Our experience was great. We read the recent reviews and decided to give them a shot anyway, tempering our expectations a bit. Glad we did. We decided to go early, like 10 minutes after they opened at 11 AM on Saturday, to hedge our bets for freshness. We went right to the ordering panel - which is off to the side of the counter queue and the default screen is a glossy image with a smaller Order Here in text so I can see how others overlooked it. However, the people who came in after us went right to the counter and were helped in the same timeframe we were ordering. They weren’t turned away or told to wait to use the panel, so perhaps that practice has stopped. We ordered an original cheese stick and an original potato stick for $6 and $5.75 respectively. Reasonable. We also bought a dozen donuts…for $34! And a strawberry lemonade and peach lemonade with boba for $4.99 and $5.49. Donuts and lemonades came out first and were brought to us. Staff member was pleasant and said the hotdogs would be out shortly. Donuts looked great and were delicious. The shape also makes them very shareable. The beads pull apart easily. We tried the original, the churro, the choco churro, the chocolate, and the ube. (All the flavors appear to be in the glaze/frosting, not in the dough, just fyi.) Donut texture is chewier/bouncier than a wheat donut. If you’ve had mochi ice cream it will be familiar but lighter and airier. Lemonades were light and refreshing, tasted fresh. The rice hotdog and rice cheese stick were delicious. Hot (let it cool before first bite!) and cooked through, and the breading ratio was fine. The potato dog is obviously thicker than the original - which makes sense because it’s coated in fries. Seating is a little sparse. We had no trouble and sat at the window counter seats, but I think there were only 3 actual 4-tops. There is bench seating along the stretch from the parking lot door to the counter, but they only have these tiny tipsy side tables. I can see it getting jammed during busy times. We’ll probably go back the next time we’re craving a hot dog on a stick. Donuts pricing is prohibitive but for a once in a while treat like a birthday or grad party, or for a work function, I can see the splurge.

My partner and I got the grand opening voucher for a free item each. It stated on the voucher that you need to spend $10 for the free item, not sure if all the lower stars people did not read or they added the addendum after people complained. We went on Saturday which was packed, the line went out the door. The employee was very nice to help us claim our free item for following the voucher. It’s our first time, and we ordered two 3-donut pack to meet the $20 threshold for two free items: hot Cheetos moz and half&half potato hot dog. Hotdog and moz stick was really good! The ube donuts were great and nutty. We didn’t eat all donuts in one night, but pretty sure all other flavors will be great as well. We didn’t see an option to buy donuts as singles, it was either 3-pack, 6 or a dozen. Decor-wise, very modest and they’ll add a photo booth in the store somewhere down the line.

Starts with M and ends with T what is that Mochinut one of the best places to go WHEN YOU HAVE MONEY!!! It’s not overpriced at all it is so amazing the prices fit it perfectly! I’ve been trying a new hotdog everytime I go and they are always without fail delicious. I’ve been here alone and with friends no matter what there’s a Party happening in my stomach. When I tell you it’s good I meannnnn that 😫. Don’t ever play with mochinut it’s one of the best places in Ann Arbor especially if you’re avoiding supporting pro Israel’s! So IF YOU HAVE MONEY!! Please please please spend it on mochinut and make your day better. (I recommend the Hot cheeto one it be having me scrape the bottom of the boxxxxxxx 😩, and I also recommend the brown sugar with popping boba milk tea 😁😁😁)

very disappointing. I had to place my order via kiosk which prompts you to leave a tip (I don't tip computer screens lol). I noticed that they had about 8 donut flavors available to order compared to the 25 that were listed on the website.

I ended up ordering 3 donuts, a cheese and potato corn dog, and a Boba milk tea.

The donuts were the worst part. For whatever reason I expected them to be super chewy and bouncy or maybe even contain some mochi as the name mochinut implies, but they are only slightly chewy and the flavor was nothing special, no mochi in it either. they were also cold which was surprising to me because the kiosk printed a number out that they would call when your order is ready. Why bother with that if its not being made fresh? You can only order a minimum of 3 donuts for 10 dollars which is a completely outrageous price point for such a mediocre product

The Corn dog was pretty good. there's a lot of crunchy breading and it is made fresh. I would say its a special mozzarella stick or hotdog depending on what you order. very filling.

The drink was fairly unremarkable. its milk tea with unsweet boba. you could get better boba tea almost anywhere its sold.

When they called my number, they didnt have my full order ready, just the donuts and drink. I said i was missing the corn dog and they said that they would call my number when it was ready, even though they already called my number... Not impressed.

If you're gonna go. make sure you get the corn dog. its really the only reason to go, but its definitely not enough to bring me back. buy donuts and drinks...

I've tried the mochi nut shop in Troy and it was a 5 star experience, but this location needs to get their stuff together. Upon arriving it was about 5pm and they close at 9pm. They were short stuffed. Looked like the manager wasn't doing anything but playing on his phone while the only other staff was doing all the work. They were almost out of donuts and they said they weren't making anymore due to closing soon. But they still had 3 hours until close. The ramen was good but we ordered all the sides to put in the ramen and there was nothing out. The kid who worked there said he would get some more in the back and it took him a good 20 min. Meanwhile we are just sitting there waiting. Our drinks and corn dogs came out super late as well. And they were all out of sauce and forks. My son doesn't know how to use chop sticks so being out of forks wasn't ideal. Overall we spent over $100 and we weren't pleased at all. Bad service, and the atmosphere wasn't comforting. Will not be back to...
