Panda Express — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

horrible service from managers Neil! had to wait OVER AN HIUR for him to show up so they could process my refund.

long versionn: I placed an order in the app and got there and they were out of behind chicken. understandable but they should have marked it out. the staff offered to switch it for another entree but since I'm vegetarian I can't have anything else. the staff member said he would need his manager to process a refund. fine, he needs a second to get the manager. I go and sit and the staff member proceeds to CALL the manager, so the manager is not in site. maybe there was emergency and he had to go to the store.

I was waiting 45 minutes for the manager to show up. Absolutely insane. the staff offer me a drink and called the manager two more times. it was clear he did not think it would be this long either. he was very apologetic.

manager arrives 45 minutes later, then takes another 15 minutes to show up to the front counter to help me. no apologies or anything. I get a text 10 minutes later that the refund is processed. Neil the manager STILL does not come back up to make sure everything went through. I have to ask staff to bring him back up. again no apologies or anything. I told him i understand things happen but waiting over an hour to get a refund is ridiculous. he clearly didn't need me there to process it so it's was ridiculous to keep me there while he did who knows what. really disrespectful and...

Quick service. Generous portions. Clean and tidy dining area. Well packed take out order (important to get this part right) and the containers for eight different meals were labeled. Food was delicious. Remembered fortune cookies without reminder, but nearly forgot chopsticks, so remember to ask if you prefer them. While other Chinese takeout places tend to overload the condiments with tons of soy sauce, hot mustard, and duck sauce packets, this Panda Express did not. In fact, they didn't send any since we didn't ask for any. That's no big deal to me, but, again, remember to ask if it is to you. We paid with three Panda Express gift cards and they handled this fluidly, without any disruption to the flow of customers. The checkout person was also kind enough to offer to annotate our last Panda gift card with a Sharpie so I would know the remaining balance later without needing the receipt. So I’ve been to multiple Panda Expresses in California and their food tastes nothing like this one here at the Briar Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I ordered the big plate.

The paper steak smell burnt and tastes awefully, not even like steak, the sauce had a very weird taste also, the chow mein is rough, definitely not fully cooked, tastes like dehydrated, chewy and rubbery noodles and the walnut shrimp was ok but the guy gave me such a small amount that it’s considered to me as a taste test only. The only item that was delicious was the broccoli and cabbage mix. So disappointing because I’ve been wanting to visit Panda Express for three years. $16. what a complete waste of money.
