Honestly, don’t know what to say at this point. We ordered way before another table who arrived 15 mins after we did, and they got all of their food (four dishes) before we got even one dish. They even ordered a dish that we ordered, yet they got it before us. Asked the waiter why it was taking so long, told us the chef didn’t get to our order yet….???? The server then went to the table behind us (who also arrived and ordered after us), and apologized for the delay. Where was our apology? Was super rude about everything after that point, even though we waited close to an hour for food. Also, the restaurant was way too crowded; the tables were too close to each other. My son had to move his chair in until he was uncomfortable because the tables were so close together that the back of the chair of another table was touching my sons chair.
Peking duck wasn’t even close to what is served at other restaurants. We specifically asked them beforehand if it was like Peking duck served at other restaurants (cut properly), they said yes. When it came, there were still bones in the duck. How are we supposed to wrap the duck meat in the tortilla if there are bones in it???? Then they kept insisting that different restaurants have different ways of making dishes. Don’t call it Peking Duck then. Didn’t offer us to change the dish or anything.
It was my son’s fifth birthday. We ended up taking his cake home and didn’t even celebrate his birthday in the restaurant. Also, they charge a $3 fee for “non cash payment”, which we didn’t even know about until looking at the receipt. Won’t be coming back again. Better Chinese food and service can be found...
Read moreI've eaten in once, and gotten carry-on once. Both times, the food tasted good. The Beef soup tasted great. For $10.95 you get a quart container of delicious broth and lots of beef. The abundant portion of noodles comes in a separate cardboard carry container. It was a bit of a challenge to mix the two, as I was at work. It was enough soup for 2-3 people, and tasted great, but I really needed a separate bowl to eat it. "Family style" carry out, I guess you could say. You could easily feed 2 adults from this, while neighboring restaurants are charging $12-14 for a single bowl of ramen, even at lunch time! The lady who helped me was friendly. Another visit, when I ate in, I had the roasted duck. It was a healthy portion of duck laying on a bed of rice. It tasted good, but the pieces of duck were quite large, and I only had chopsticks. Without a fork and knife, I had to resort to picking the duck up with my fingers -- not something I usually do in a restaraunt. The flavor was great, though, and my son liked his soup, though I don't remember what variety he got. The soup bowl was huge, and he took a lot home. In a downtown area quickly being overrun with high-end restaurants and ever more coffee shops, TK WU is a great place to get a reasonably priced, great tasting meal. They've got...
Read moreOMG, What happened to me and my kids at this place is unheard of and I never had such an experience anywhere in the United States. I took my older son, his girlfriend and my younger son to this place to celebrate my older son's birthday. We ordered different plates to share. One of us ordered Mongolian Beef. The Beef was the worst quality I've ever had in any restaurant when I tried it. It's chewy and does not taste like beef. My son had 2 pieces on his plate and barely had a bite off one of them. When the waitress came by, we told her about the beef and requested to replace the plate with Hunan Chicken which was much better. She started interviewing my son with 5 or 6 questions as to why he didn't like it. At the end she said he already ate half of it and so she could not replace the plate while the 4 of us were sitting there in shock as only 2 pieces left the main plate and he barely had a bite. When you try to save 3 dollars and you lose 4 customers forever, I would say it's is a very bad business decision. The cost of the $3 is probably $ 2000 over the...
