Toarmina's Pizza & Burrito Joint — Restaurant in Ann Arbor

I was sent to this establishment to pick up an order on Tuesday, 09 March 2021. I arrived and spoke with the young caucasian girl in charge, I do not know her name as she did not have a visible name tag. Inquired about my order and was informed it would be 20-25 minutes before it was ready. I left and went to the farm market next door, ordered a Chai tea and sat in my vehicle. I returned to the establishment after 20 mins. When I walked in the young lady did not acknowledge me at first even though I was the only customer in the store. Then when she did acknowledge me she proceed to say "I have 6 tacos to make" as if my order would be the next order she would work on. That was not the case. After she finished that order she proceeded to make another order. Then a couple walked in and she proceeded to take their order. When they walked out she says to me "you do not have to wait in here, i will bring it out when it is ready." I left and went back to my car. I had someone else contact the restaurant and inquire about the order. She explained to them that it would be another 5 minutes. I waited an additional 15 minutes and still no order was brought out to me. So, after approx. 40 min of waiting, I left. The store was not that busy as those who placed orders while I was waiting obtained their orders before my order was even started. At worst that young lady does not care about customer service or at best she lacks the proper management skills to run the establishment. Either way, I will never visit this...

May 2022 - Two months ago I had a horrible experience calling to order food (see description below). The restaurant immediately made contact and inquired further into the incident; the inquiry was polite and responsive. Based on that I outreach, I decided to give the restaurant a second chance (without prompting or warning to the restaurant). Under nearly identical circumstances as my first experience, I called to order food for delivery to UoM again. The service was amazing. The delivery was prompt and the driver was courteous. Our food was great (we ordered pizza). I'm glad we tried the restaurant again. I would rate Toarmina's five stars if not for that first experience.

Feb 2022 - I called to order delivery. Customer service was so bad that I ended the call before finalizing delivery details.

I am from out of town. I wanted to order food for someone at the hospital while I was there visiting. I didn't immediately know all the details to tell the person where to deliver to (I said main entrance of the general UoM hospital). He has being impatient and kept asking which hospital. I explained it was by parking ramp two. He replied "oh my God, they all by two."

I'll order from people who care enough about their business to treat people...

First time customer and found this location via Restaurant.com gift certificate. I remember Toarmina's being at Taste of Ann Arbor years ago showcasing their 24 inch pizza, but then never actually went to one.

Ordered pizza (Meatfest and Deluxe combo) , some chicken wings, both traditional (Italian) and boneless (BBQ).

Overall from the family, the food was good. The Italian wings actually had a slight kick, which we enjoyed the most in our order. Was it mind blowing, best pizza we ever had? No, but decent! For gourmet pizza, we felt we've enjoyed other local pizzerias more in comparison, regarding the dough, sauce, seasonings. Toppings were fine.
