Probably one of the smallest tea places I've ever stepped into, but nonetheless profoundly delightful.
Although tight on space, the high ceilings and yellow hue makes the room feel more light and spacious. The counter was very well organized, and the tables were exceptionally clean. Their ordering process is by far one of the more efficient versions that I've encountered in experience with cafés. I think in an attempt to avoid lines in such a confined area, they traded face to face service for online touch screens near the front door. The two touch screens that they had were easy to use, didn't buffer, and didn't create any obstacles for the customers. The wait time on an order will obviously vary, but I would imagine that it's roughly 5-10 minutes for a single drink and maybe a pastry. The problem I encountered was that while waiting, there were very few places to sit. The seating is extremely limited, with only a couple round tables in the main building and maybe three benches outside of it. Because of this, It was a bit awkward at first to establish a waiting place, but eventually I found a spot.
Once I was notified that my ordered was done (They have you input your phone number after ordering so that they can send you text updates), it was as easy as checking my name on the cup to make sure it was mine, picking it up, and walking away. I rarely interacted with the staff member at this establishment, but when I did, they were very polite and openly friendly. They even had free stickers at the pick-up counter!
I had ordered one of their original flavored bubble waffles and a Summer Time Boba Tea. Both were extremely delicious, and I would highly recommend their waffles and deserts. All the menu items are extremely unique, and I have never come across anything like it before in this area. The pricing was a little steep, but given what I was buying and the short supply of places that sell these particular items, I really shouldn't complain all that much.
I think that this place, for anyone who walks through the doors, Is a very welcoming and accepting environment. From families to friend groups, if you're looking for something a bit more out-there than a hot dog and slushy, there's something for everyone on the...
Read moreVisited Unitea again after a couple of years since its opening (I live relatively far from Ann Arbor). I learned that they are under new management and are catering more traditional Vietnamese drinks on their menu. I tried: -Ube cream Vietnamese coffee 10/10!!! -Salted cream Vietnamese coffee 7/10 -Coconut Vietnamese coffee 7/10 -Black Vietnamese drip coffee 7/10 Pandan milk 9/10 -Strawberry matcha latte 6/10 -Lychee Jasmine Tea 8/10 -Black Milk Tea 6.5/10
Firstly, as a Vietnamese person myself, I always hesitate to try Vietnamese coffee outside of my own home because they are rarely authentic. However! Unitea’s Vietnamese coffee truly IMPRESSED me!! Strong, smooth and just the right amount of sweetness, the coffee alone is enough to leave a lasting impression. The Ube cream on top was in perfect harmony with the coffee, neither outshined the other!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Second in line would be the pandan milk. Sweet, creamy and fragrant with the lovely pandan aroma. It was truly a trip to my childhood (IYKYK but if you don’t, try it to find out😉😉). My third favorite was the lychee jasmine tea. I was skeptical because most of the time, the tea is overly sweet and artificially so. This one wasn’t! It was sweet just enough and there were real lychee fruits in it! Refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day🤩. The other top contender was the coconut coffee. If you are a coconut lover, I highly recommend! Creamy coconut flavor mixed with a touch of Vietnamese coffee, a great combination for coconut and coffee lovers🤤. The salted foam coffee was not bad too! The foam was just a tad bit salty for my taste but it definitely represented the ever so famous in Vietnam salted coffee well!
The rating isn’t to say the other drinks were bad! Some just weren’t for my taste but that doesn’t mean it’s not for you🤫, definitely should try it for yourself😁.
10/10 recommend Unitea Cafe!! Lovely owner, great drinks AND HAPPY HOUR DISCOUNT? What’s not...
