Excellent experience. Went in for Chinese New Year and it was relatively packed but I came in with a party of 2 and was seated immediately. There is an extensive paper menu with many specialty dishes. The only gripe I had was that there were no pictures so it was hard to tell what exactly some dishes were without a picture or description. The waitress, however, suggested the Chicken w/ Basil and the Spicy Fish Filet w/ Mustard Green & Tofu; they were excellent picks. The chicken was incredibly flavorful and the basil added a distinctive flavor to it that paired really well. The fish didn't really have a kick to it, but it tasted flavorful. (I wasn't looking for a very spicy dish in the first place). We both got a complimentary bowl of rice to pair with these entrees. Also ordered the Chinese Watercress w/Garlic but the kitchen was out of watercress though pea tips as a substitute were still good. One of the better Asian dining experiences in downtown Ann Arbor for sure. The dishes were a bit pricey but the two of us were full and there were some leftovers by the end of our meal. Will definitely visit again and try out their...

OMG 😱 - As a (Ann Arbor) townie, I wish I had known about this place a long time ago. Great Szechuan is a dream! Asian Legend is my new favorite 😍. Our friends Blake and Jinghan said Asian Legend was superior and we should go there. Everything we had was incredible. We will definitely return!

The oyster and mustard green soup was really light and fishy… like an ocean breeze tastes. The oysters were tender and flavorful. Normally, this would NOT be in my wife’s radar, however, she loved it.

The Szechuan fish was ordered spicy hot 🌶️ and it was perfect - hot enough to satisfy, but not so hot to kill the flavor of everything else! The fish was tasty and cabbage was not over or under done. I certainly noticed the sauce had broad beans… genuine Szechuan flavor and freaking delicious.

The Wuxi ribs were so tender and very tasty and flavorful. There was no obnoxious fat on the ribs and the meat was absolutely tender but not at all mushy.

All in all… I am super pleased to get quality Szechuan and Taiwanese food in Ann Arbor and not have to drive to Lansing ❤️.

Haven't been here for years, and was really disappointed to visit Asian Legend by myself yesterday. It's the same couple running this place with same tables and chairs that I am familiar with, but the service from the lady (the boss) got so much worse. Also, she added tip charge to my receipt without telling me about it at all. This is illegal practice and I was just by myself. The food also got more expensive for LESSER quality, but I wasn't expecting the best food in town to begin with and it never was. I saw both the husband and the wife that day and they both appeared impatient, stressed, and certainly don't enjoy their jobs or the customers there. Years ago, they used to be much nicer and even had some fun chats with customers from time to time. Not anymore. I guess it pains to approach retirement age and realize there isn't enough in the bank account, and the pandemic must have hit them hard. I did not have a good experience yesterday and have no reason to re-visit this place again, but...

The Stars of the Show: Beef Chow Fun and Scallion Pancakes Let's start with their Beef Chow Fun. This dish is a masterclass in flavor balance and texture. The wide, flat noodles, cooked to perfection, offer a silky canvas for the succulently stir-fried beef that's seasoned just right. Each bite is a harmonious blend of savory and slightly smoky flavors. Moving on to the Scallion Pancakes – these are a revelation. Crispy on the outside, yet wonderfully soft and chewy inside, these pancakes are infused with the perfect amount of scallions. Each bite delivers a satisfying crunch, followed by the delightful oniony flavor that's not overpowering but pleasantly subtle.
