10-11JULY2025 Me and my partner have always come here for years now and decided to stay a night in the charming Inn on Main. It is located in downtown of the state’s capital. The reservation were fine and check-in was easy..go inside of (World Famous Man vs. Food)Chick & Ruth’s Delly to the register and speak to the cashier. Then someone will take you upstairs (40 steps in all..yep I counted because I can🧡)two narrow, carpeted, flights. If you’re not into stairs, this is definitely NOT for the faint of hearts. You have two options to park, either behind the Inn on Main at the parking garage for a hefty price or park at Gott’s parking garage, which is an 8-9 minute walk with a discounted price from the Inn on Main. Now that discount is a bit complicated to acquire(pack some patience for that). It may be easy for you. Wifi, lovely pics on the hallway walls, quaint back stairway area outside to sit and have a few drinks with your partner (if you so choose). Me and my partner had the owners suite. It is in the front of the upstairs facing Main Street downtown(capital of Maryland)Annapolis. I enjoyed the view and it was quiet to us; even being atop a bustling restaurant. We had drinks in our suite and on the back area(for about several minutes)of the Inn and adjourned back to our suite. We went down to the restaurant to order our food and took a 10 minute stroll on Main Street while our dinner was being prepared. We went to our usually Irish shop because we love the clothes, candy, and customer service there. There are other small owned shops, J. McLaughlin, The Lucky Dog, liquor/package store, and other souvenir stores. Our bed and the entire suite was nice and comfortable. This is a wonderful and quaint spot, so if you’re looking for some Ritz-Carlton type space; this is NOT the spot. It is beach and sea like accommodations with a splash of beautiful modern. We had a great nights sleep. Our entire stay was quiet and quaint.

I give it 5 stars because of the value. If you can't walk up three flights of steps this isn't your place. Overall cleanliness, convenient location, free full basic breakfast or half off any other breakfast order. You can't beat the price in town. The staff is extra friendly and helpful. You have to park at Gotts Court Garage and walk over. Check in at Chick n Ruth's register. They give you the room key, backdoor code, and parking coupon. Best thing is that it is right above Chick n Ruth's. Best food, best portions, best price. Delicious and you feel like family. I will definitely stay at the Inn at Main again. Chick n Ruth's is the best.

The Inn is attached to Chick & Ruth’s delly and we were so happy breakfast was included because this diner was super popular & had great food. There isn’t a lift, so be prepared to haul/carry your bags up the stairs. The rooms were cute and well kept (clean) with lots of towels, creams etc. supplied. We didn’t have a view but since the location is so perfect, we’d just step out for a quick stroll. Also the free Annapolis shuttle conveniently stops opposite the Inn.

We stayed with you after having a week’s worth of daily meals at the restaurant. We were in Annapolis a couple of months ago, to visit our daughter at USNA. There were so many meals we wanted to try that we kept on coming in for dinner every day. Well, that wasn’t enough. We decided it would be much easier and convenient to stay at the ScotLaur. We stayed with you last week and again, we ate there for the “included breakfast” AND we had four of our five dinners at the restaurant. I think we could stay there every time and not go through all the meals offered on the menu! ||The hotel stay was phenomenal. It was comfortable, quaint, quiet, convenient, reasonable, and clean. We made the reservations about six months ago to ensure our stay during several major events occurring at USNA, which we were attending. The hotel confirmed our reservations a couple of weeks prior and the night before, to make sure we were set and didn’t need anything additional at the last minute. They were totally on top of it.||The room was small but not overly uncomfortable. There were two of us with our daughter staying with us for one night. ||The double bed was fine. The room was wallpapered and decorated with an Amish motif. It even included a stuffed animal on the bed. The bed linens and towels were clean. That was the main factor we expected. There were sundries available but we brought our own so we didn’t use them. There was a clothes chest with plenty of drawers for storage. No place to hang dresses, suits, or anything you don’t want wrinkled. You’ll have to hang over the door. The sunlight was fine as the window faced a backside porch which led to the back of the building and parking structure. Two lamps, one on each of the nightstands, which also had drawers. There was a small stack of books available in the room. Bring your own book. There was an alarm clock, if needed. The sink was within the suite as opposed to being with the shower and toilet. The underside of the sink had plenty of storage, including an iron in case you needed it. There was a wicker storage bin filled with blankets and fresh sheets. We took those out and used it as a laundry basket. Not all places are perfect of course. I’d be lying if I told you that the shower was…well…really, really tiny. So tiny that if you bent over to try and scrub your heels, your head would hit the wall as you bent down. The door of the bathroom must be closed in order to open the shower door. They swing in the same direction. Water pressure and temperature were fine. Toilet was fine. There was a flat screen TV but we didn't have time to watch it. The internet was great and free WiFi. Carpeting was not new but was clean. We requested a “cot” for our daughter’s one-night overnight. We were provided with a plastic twin mattress that was placed on the carpet next to us. We were forewarned that the room would be nearly impossible to move around with that mattress on the floor. Indeed, it was true. However, we didn’t mind. Better than not having the opportunity to have her stay with us. As expected, she was glad it was only for one night. The corridors inside the Inn were familial. It felt as though you were in your own home, dating you back to the early 70s. Photos of the original owners, and his family were hanging on the walls throughout. There were two levels of rooms. We stayed on the first level. I felt safe and secure as a key was needed to come into the building from the restaurant. The Inn sits in the middle of downtown Annapolis so there is no need for transportation. The Academy is approximately a quarter of a mile from the Inn. The only reason we rented a car was because we needed to get to and from the Inn to the airport. It was less expensive than doing an Uber. The downside was that the parking fee adjacent to the hotel charges $20/daily. The Inn reimburses you $10 for the day. That’s still $10 a day for parking even if you don’t use it. If you go in/out more than once, it becomes more expensive. We went to the mall a couple of times to get essentials and the going in and out, added up to our bill. We’d plan our trips better next time. Hands down, the experience and everything about the stay at ScotLaur is recommended. The only thing that didn’t make sense was the parking. There is street parking but it is hourly. Then again, it Is not any different than any other touristy city. That’s just a fact to deal with. Looking forward and already booking our next stay for the beginning of the year. We visit every other month and this will be our new destination. To us, we love it. It makes us feel like...

Location is fantastic, facilities not great. I give 3/5 stars mostly because the people working there are very nice (while seemingly overworked) and it is clean. There are 3 problems though: facilities are not great, the website I find deceiving, and there is deferred maintenance, even on easy to fix things. First you should know that the Inn seems now called Inn on Main, but in many instances it is still called Scotlaur Inn. Then there is no lobby, or front desk, just a restaurant (both things took me a while to figure out). If you want to sit anywhere, well there is not sitting area, and certainly no desk anywhere if you have anything to do any work - it will have to be while laying or sitting on your bed. There is no elevator (which I believe should be made clear on the website) just a very steep and narrow (but straight) staircase with no AC. If you arrive after the restaurant closes, you should definitely call ahead. We tried two bedrooms. The first one was a disappointment as it did not feel like the picture on the web. Pictures on the web look nicer than the rooms actually are. The beds were rickety, moving, and making a lot of noise each time you move (though I found the mattress good enough, and the pillows great - I like rather thin pillows). The AC was extremely noisy, and the head of my bed was under a window to the back landing that had a light right in my face all night. Blinds are insufficient to stop the light. The shower is probably the smallest I have ever seen in the whole USA. Second bedroom was shocking: even though the picture on the web shows 2 windows, there is a wall just a foot away, on the whole side of the building, which makes you feel in a cave. Maybe it's not a problem for some people, but for me it is and I think the pictures should show it. Not a word, not a picture. The first day I liked that the room was quiet, but then the AC started to make non stop noise. There was way too much deferred maintenance: the toilet seat was completely breaking away from the toilet (you could just pick it up), the toilet refill mechanism would almost never stop on its own, the lock to the door was difficult, the key would not go in all the way and when it did it would sometimes get stuck. The AC control was out of battery. More dreadful, there was water consistently dripping from the recessed ceiling light above the vanity. Of course the light would not work, so they had taken a lamp from the bedside to put it on the vanity countertop. All that is just not ok. Things have to be repaired, issues have to be disclosed ahead to avoid disappointment. And the shower was the exact same size as the previous room - way too small and I am a very...
