UPDATE 5/2025: We’re BACK!! Just yesterday I thought about the Potato Cakes and how I missed them, I thought perhaps there was a way I could find out who made them and order them directly. I had tried hash brown cakes from a retailer but they just weren’t the same. Upon looking them up, I found out Arby’s brought them back in February. Today I went and ordered them along with a roast beef sandwich (I haven’t been to Arby’s in over 3 years-see my original post below). The cakes are a little thinner than I remember, but figured that’s ok with shrinkflation and all. The roast beef tasted the same as I recall. 5 stars (up two for bringing them back). I’ll be returning again. LONG LIVE THE POTATO CAKE!
[Original Post 3 years or more ago] No potato cakes! Aargh! Arby’s has replaced their potato cakes with crinkle fries. If I wanted crinkle fries or any other normal fry, I’d go somewhere else. I’ve tolerated the roast beef sandwich because of the potato cake.
Sliders were a good idea: if you’re going to give me less meat, make the bun smaller. Presto a Slider! Regular Roast Beef comes in a fairly large bun. The larger sizes use the same bun. Regular should be in a smaller bun.
The food is great and the service at this location is on par with most fast food joints. On occasion they may get an order wrong. Hasn’t happened to me and I used to go there on a daily basis.
Sadly I hadn’t gone in awhile. During the pandemic I stayed mostly at home and cooked for myself. Fast food joints suffered my not going to them. I’m making up for lost time now... but Arby’s will have to continue on without me. As I drive by they’re still pretty busy, I guess the Sheep will keep eating there. I won’t until potato cakes come back (if they ever do).
Driving today I wanted to go and would have stood in line... except I remembered NO POTATO CAKES and...

Read moreI had just been at the store picking up Groceries. It was raining, I was hungry and didn't want to cook. No I saw arby's across the street and thought oh I'll pick something up. I went into the drive-through and made my order and went to the window. As I was getting ready to pay I realized I left my purse in my trunk and it's pouring outside. I stayed at the window until the young man came to the window. As he started to hand me the pop I stopped him and told him I had left my purse in the trunk and with it raining and I was already wet and cold I wasn't going to get out and get it. I just wanted to let him know and not just drive off. Before I could leave the young man still gave me the soda. I was going to leave he again told me to wait and handed me the meal anyway. Again I gratefully thank him. I didn't catch his name I wish I had but I want him to know what a wonderful young man he is! Thank you...
