We waited too long after we’ve ordered, one of my friends and I ordered a $19.99 plate one with shrimp that’s my friend’s that at the end costed $28.99 for 4 shrimps add on only; the other plate with shrimp and scallops was mine so I ended up also paying too $ 49.99 for adding up 4 shrimps and 2 scallops that these 2 plates did not come with these proteins. Then my other friend asked for a $19.99 plate as well and also for adding up shrimp came up to a $ 28.99 cost that also they just added 4 shrimps. I know that they charge extra when the customer asks an extra item but this is insane 10.00 more for the extras and in my case I ended up paying 30.00 dollars more for the extras 4 shrimp and 2 scallops? on just my plate?? I think it’s not fair. Then the beverages, for a lemonade with tea mixed $8.50 each cup and they also charged for the water with lemon my friend ordered about $6.25. The calamari fritti were like little rings the size of a 6.50 size human hand ring and they were probably 15 pieces there for $18.00 dlls? The entrémese plate. They also told us they were going to refill our cups but never suggested they will charge the extra entire price they never suggested the extra costs. We told the waiter to review the order again and he ended up giving up his service fee as a waiter of $ 35.29 charged to us and the restaurant only took $3.00 dlls off from the ticket. I think if we could do a Ceviche plate will have costed around $40.00 bucks for the 4 of us and it will be better served I know they also charge for the brands but all involving ocean products is expensive I get that but this is insane from this restaurant, I am not the only one here expressing my concerns here. For me I am invited to not come back again to this restaurant, as well as my friends. But at the end we Paid what they reduced and gave to the waiter 28.00 dlls for tip that most of the times or sometimes the waiters have to share their tips with the company or their co-workers. Might as well he can get it...
Read moreMy wife and I have been dining happily at Ragazzi Green Valley for over 20 years, but our recent visit on January 28th, 2024 was disappointing. I just got my credit card bill and am now more disappointed, which is why, a month after our visit, I'm writing this review.
To begin, the service was below par. It took a long time to get menus and order. The service staff was not attentive, and some requests had to be repeated. During the meal, we had to flag the waiter several times; for example, he did not bring the parmesan cheese grater with the order, said he'd be right back but had to remind and by then the food had cooled.
The portions seem smaller than before. We had wine, bread, salad, soup, main and desert. My wife took home a small amount of her entree, but I ate my entire meal; it was just sufficient for me, a 140# man.
In general, the prices seem to be up 50 to 100% over the past couple years. One mistake we made was ordering a half carafe of house wine for $28, which later we realized was no deal considering a glass was $10 and there are only about 2-1/2 glasses in a half carafe.
On the positive side, the food was good and tasty, which had been sufficient to satisfy me enough to not write a review. Until today, when I saw my CC statement and realized I'd been charged more than the amount on...
Read moreGood – The food was very tasty. In fact, it was excellent. The wait staff was very nice, albeit slow.
Not so Good – Prices are top of the range for comparative restaurants, but when the small portions are considered – it lacks value.
Bad – I’m not going to belabor this, as we have no intention of ever going back to this restaurant – even though it’s local. We had reservations, but when we arrived we were immediately informed by the hostess that there was going to be a fifteen minute wait. When we queried why – there was an immediate attitude with no reasonable explanation. As it turned out, the hostess was able to seat us a bit sooner – but not without a snide remark about the “short wait”. Two in our party ordered lemon drop martinis. When the bar staff brought them to the table – the limited pour was striking. When asked about the scant fill, the server said that was the most they were allowed to serve by law. Having never heard that before, we looked it up. That was a lie. There is no such limitation in Arizona.
The décor is dated and the establishment overall is begging for capital improvement. As I said at the onset – the meal was good, but dining is a social experience, and in this regard – the experience was...
