I sauntered from the Green Valley Laundromat to La Vakita Meat Market at about 5 in the evening. I'd just crammed some fifty pounds dirty clothing and underclothing into both the huge washing machines they got in there. I was tired. I was hungry. The medicated pastry was starting to kick in. All of a sudden, I felt high and reenergized enough to go for a stroll to La Vakita. I craved a cold one. They had no Mexican beer, but they had everything else: Mexican candy, Mexican sodas, Mexican drinks, Mexican spices, Mexixan canned goods, Mexican baked goods, and they even had honest-to-goodness genuine Mexicans working behind the cash register and cutting up the meat. When I called, I was told they don't give prices over the phone. I called back a second time just to make sure I heard it correctly. I was shocked, this is a great way to drive customers away from your store. Should have taken a few seconds to make a customer happy. Now I release why I was told to go somewhere else first, this left a bad experience that will persuade me to...
Read moreWe have been fans of this little market place for over a year. We have bought ground beef lean, carne molida several times and amazed at amount of grease left in pan after cooking it down. Yes it’s a very small amount of grease and the flavor is worth the stop. We love the different salsas, all fresh, healthy and yummy! Some like it hot and then the mild is good too. We always get the ground beef when we have out of town guests and they want us to make street tacos. Love this place and the people who work there. Always pleasant and nice. It’s a small market and it is easy to get in and out with out buying...
