Lunch at 225⁰ BBQ today in Arlington, Texas
The smokeshack is in the back, food is ordered and served inside of the Black Sheep sports bar/ restaurant at a counter. Inside the lighting is very dim due to it being a sports bar at night. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I tried three of my favorite items as well as macaroni and cheese.
Brisket- I order half lean and half moist, both portions had great bark and a slight smoke ring. the lean side was dry but had tastefully rendered fat so it balanced great and did not require sauce. The moist portion was much more flavorful throughout.
Pork rib- on the first rib the meat was a little tough in some spots and great in others. The crust was sweet and flavorful. I ate one as soon as the platter was brought to me, the other I waited 20 minutes until I finished the other items and it was so tough it was not edible.
Jalapeño cheddar sausage- smooth grind with small pieces of jalapeño and ALOT of melted cheese chunks. The cheese provided the majority of the flavor due to the amount that was in the link that I had.
Macaroni and cheese- runny cheese in al dente noodles with some seasoning added. I arrived at 11 when they opened and this was nearly cold when served and did not set up due to how runny it was.
They have two bbq sauce options, one was a mustard sauce that had more of a mustard taste than bbq sauce. The other was a sweet hickory sauce, I did a small taste of each and did not try them with the meat as it would have diminished the flavor for my preference.
I would return for the brisket as well as some of the other items that I did not try today like the birria quesadilla or birria ramen.

Read moreSummer 2023 and it’s 115 degrees outside and this business is in a parking lot in a defunct pet supply business. The trailer is parked on white crushed rock and it feels like you’re standing in another planet. Waiting 20 minutes felt unpleasant and unappreciated. When we got to the window the food truck owner doesn’t acknowledge us approaching or states the proverbial “I’ll be with you in a minute,” instead he continued to work and ignored us, and I could sense an attitude and it was at that moment we walked off. There are many places for BBQ (For example Dave’s BBQ a few blocks away), so why would I spend my money there to be treated like that and waited that long with no gratitude that we were enduring the wait to try this place. I won’t be going back to this place, the vibe was off!
Edit 8/22/23 After reading your response I will finalize my last words - your rebuttal for my review only verfies my observations. I see you started showing gratitude on your social media page only after I ackowledge "the lack of," on this review -- its all dated. I've never seen anyone take a customer complaint and make it about them instead of apologizing and attempting to resolve the issue, instead you want to undermined an experience someone had, the service is as I expected. However, I hope there is a lesson to be learned here, and why would anyone have empathy for your situation, albeit its hot in your truck, its an occupational hazard, like driving to work. Customer retention goes beyond the food, its also in the service -- just look at other industry collegues who have gone on to doing bigger things in stadiums. Thanks for your response, have a great day!
PS - no offense to the business that the lot sits on, I wish them...
Read moreI was in the mood for some good barbecue, and after doing a lot of searching; I decided on this place after seeing several posts about it on the 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 page on Facebook….and BAYBEEE 𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙙 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙!!
I was skeptical at first because these days a lot of the fast food restaurants are hit or miss BUT this one was DEF a hit! EVERYTHING tastes great! I got the 𝟮 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄/𝟮 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀(brisket and 2 ribs w/ loaded potato salad and charro beans) and an order of the 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗲𝗴𝗴(jalapeno stuffed with brisket meat, Oaxaca cheese, cream cheese, and wrappes in bacon) to go with it. Shyt was FIIIIIIIIIRE yall!!
The brisket and ribs were suuuper tender! I mean the meat on the ribs was pretty much falling off the bone when I picked it up! Both were perfectly seasoned and had that great smokey flavor touch; and didn’t really even need any barbecue sauce even though I prefer to put the barbecue sauce on mine! The loaded potato salad tasted just like a loaded baked potato in potato salad form..YUM! The charro beans had a nice “country” taste to them with the mixture of onions and bell peppers in it🤌🏾
I was highly pleased with my meal and it was totally worth the $37 I spent for it! Will DEF...
