Im so disappointed because I have going for YEARS and never had a problem. However, it seems the people at the front changed and the guy and girl working at the front have the WORST attitudes. Especially the Asian girl with the black hair. It was around 7:30pm on a Thursday and I ordered a Honey Basil noodle. Not even halfway in, I suddenly found a little bug in my food crawling on my noodles. Size of a fruit fly but still gross. I took the box to the front, and even made an effort to pull the Guy to the side, and let him know quietly as there was a crowd waiting for food and I didnt want to embarrass them. I let him know and he asked me where it was. now I couldnt gurantee I would find the bug the size of an ant again but it was there. I just requested if he could replace the remaining portion. Just a few moments later, the girl comes charging to my table with a HORRIBLE attitude and tells me to find it. honestly so embarassing for them to do that in front customers. She acted as if i made it up and was Lying and tells me “well we couldnt find it”. She fully expected me to go digging and inspecting every morsel of the dish to find the fruit fly size bug. I was floored. She told my guest at the table to look for it since I coudnt. At this point I was getting upset at the treatment and attitude and reiterated, I wasn’t looking for a refund or extra food. We had received the order just moments ago and still had a little more than half left and just wanted the remaining portion replaced. She caused the scene and stormed off in a huff Returning minutes later to hand me the replaced food, scolded me once again to remind me that they couldnt find the bug and how I was claiming to have been “nice”. I am usually never the one to be confrontational and although at this point I did not even want the replacement and I was livid at the treatment, and had lost my appetite, calmly let her know that I could have reacted so much worse. I did not even bother to consume what she had given, I was so upset by how this was handled. As a customer who has been visiting for years, I am so deeply disappointed and will not be visiting again until the service is corrected or those people are gone. Worst behavior ever. I understand that working at a busy restaurant is exhausting and takes a toll by days end, but the attitude, causing a scene over something that couldve been so easily corrected, and the treatment was inexcusable. I am shocked they were not...

Terrible Graduation Celebration Experience at Bethany Café

Just 3 of us.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Bethany Café. As a local college student who just graduated today, I chose Bethany’s to celebrate with my family because it has been a place where we’ve marked many milestones. Unfortunately, the service we received was appalling and put a damper on what should have been a joyous occasion.

From the moment we walked in, the younger man at the front was incredibly rude. He seemed more interested in rushing us out than providing any semblance of decent service. My father, who is hard of hearing (deaf in one ear and partially in the other), was trying to tell me what he wanted when the young man started yelling at him. He claimed my father yelled first, which was simply not true. The entire situation escalated unnecessarily as the young man waved his hands around aggressively while I tried to calm things down and explain my father’s hearing difficulties. Instead of showing understanding, he kept trying to prove his point, completely disregarding the respect and courtesy an elderly man deserves.

The level of disrespect and lack of basic customer service skills was shocking. Last time I checked, the customer is always right, and Bethany’s customer service has definitely gone downhill. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially when celebrating significant moments.

To top it off, the place had clear health violations. I noticed roaches and rodents in the bathroom, which is absolutely disgusting. I will be reporting this business to the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. I will not be spending another dime at Bethany Café, and I urge others to reconsider...

I’ve been wanting to try Bethany’s because of the popcorn chicken and their take on Chinese food.

First off, we went to order our food and had our questions answered as it pertained to certain dishes we weren’t sure about, but if you know for sure what you want to order, there is a kiosk you’ll see ahead of you as you enter where you can place your order.

We got the egg rolls, popcorn chicken (of course), general tso with rice noodles and the honey basil lo mein. To my surprise, a free drink was included and we ordered the Milk Tea that I added boba to for $.50, which was pretty yummy.

While waiting, my boyfriend and I walked around and felt like we were in Asia. There’s this whole section of $1 mini cakes that I was almost tempted to get, but given the amount of food we ordered, well, I’m gonna have to get that next time. They also have a little display of Sanrio things you can buy as well as a vending machine around the corner.

It was a pretty cool vibe while we waited for our food and the staff were nice and friendly.

Now to the food, the egg rolls were pretty yummy and light. My bf wasn’t a big fan of it. The popcorn chicken was ok, but was super fried and at times was difficult to bite and chew. I recommend drizzling some duck sauce on it before eating. The general tso was good and the rice noodles reminded me of the Filipino dish pancit. My bf chose to add some soy sauce to his for more flavor. And the honey basil lo mein was ok. I wish there was more basil in it, but there wasn’t much excitement with that. All in all the food was good for the price. Might return to try the...

Note - if you have a peanut/nut related allergy, I would be cautious about ordering their popcorn chicken fried rice and pork chop lo mein. I do not believe it is a fish related contamination fyi. I have been to the now closed location in Richardson a while back pretty often, and it still tastes the same here in Arlington. The White Mocha blueberry was pretty good, one of their top ten drinks. Boba was cooked good, I am not sure if its an option but I strongly recommend you to adjust the sugar level down for it and the Thai Tea, they are both extremely sweet. The blueberry drink separated on the ride home, science, but it tastes good still. The Pork chop had a decent nice crisp to it, I forgot to ask for chili sauce, but remember to get some to make the rice or noodles taste better. There might be sriracha too, just ask for any sauces it will be highly needed. Popcorn chicken had a strong 5 spice taste to it, if you are new to asian cooking, you will understand once you take a bite, in my opinion, its too much. This is one of the most bang for the buck joints i have been to, just looking at the pictures, its waaay huge. You should share this meal, and drink water to dilute the meal :0.

Everyone who went to UTA or AHS knows about Bethany’s. It’s been here for years, it’s cheapish Taiwanese food that serves boba since before boba was cool. This is a real Arlington locals spot, it’s not particularly amazing but you get lots of food and it’s not bad, just not what I’d say great. It’s good tho, a bit greasy but solid. The boba is good, I had the ice cream boba this time and it was sweet and good. If ya like boba this place will be good Prices have naturally gone up since the 2000s/early 2010s but it’s still reasonable cheap, not sure if HS students can afford it anymore. If you’re an old head they’ve spruced up the place so it looks nice and kind of cute. Overall it’s not amazing but it’s not bad, it’s solid food and a lot of it. I’m a big eater and I’d say I have 2 meals when I get a dish! If you’re visiting from out of town and want to see what local students/residents this is the place. I’m a city filled with chains this independent spot does pretty well for itself and it serves decent food. Don’t expect to be amazed, but it’ll good. It’s still nice to visit after all these years
