Nice easy going place. Typical Tex-Mex. The food is good and seating is usually pretty quick if you have less than 10 people. More than that and you might have to wait for a table, but not usually for too long. The service is good and you don't have to wait long for the food. The atmosphere is family friendly and you don't feel rushed to get in and out. The decor is somewhat odd with hub caps on the ceiling and license plates on the walls in some places depending on where you sit. Some other areas have paintings and other things around. Nice place and as I said the food is good. The adult beverages are good and typical of a restaurant of this style (i.e. Margaritas and bottle beers like Modelo). I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because in certain areas the music can be a bit loud so you have to speak loudly to have a normal conversation. But it's not like that in all areas. I recommend Chuy's if you like an easy going place with a neat atmosphere and like Tex-Mex food. Also, the price won't break your wallet. I spent right at $100 for 5 people, 3 adults and 2 kids.

We started with chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole. The queso was thick, cheesy, and delicious. The guacamole needed more lime and salt, while the salsa was watery and too chunky for my taste. For entrées, we ordered the Chimichanga and the Elvis Presley Memorial. The chimichanga was massive, stuffed with juicy chicken, and covered in sour cream sauce. The side of beans were creamy and tasty, though adding cotija cheese on top would have taken them up a notch. The rice, unfortunately, was dry, lacked flavor, and had a bit of a hard texture. Service started off a little unfriendly, but our server eventually warmed up to us and did a good job keeping our chips and drinks refilled. The atmosphere was definitely unique. The giant metal palm trees in the middle of the tables gave the place a quirky vibe, though it did make the seating feel a bit awkward to maneuver around.

I’m Not big on tex-mex and this place is definitely a big Tex-mex place staple. The ambiance is a mixture of old and modern pop culture and southern relics, but The food is mid to me and options aren’t exactly expansive, but it’s a popular go to. My aunt wanted to come get drinks here but they weren’t as good as I thought they would be they had a great deal of flavors to mix though and that was nice! The service was ok we needed napkins and they don’t seem to keep any on the table for some reason? And there wasn’t much moving space to sit comfortably in the middle tables it was so packed and hard to walk around - I can only imagine as a server constantly squeezing thru. I wasn’t really hungry, but The chips and salsa (plus the green ranch dip) were good.

Last night for the first time I dined at Chuys at the Arlington Tx Highlands. We were seated at a small table right next to the kitchen. I ordered a veggie enchilada with rice & beans with a chicken hard taco. The server was exceptionally bubbly, pleasant and attentive… at first.

When I dine out I don’t take pictures of my food but now I wish I had.

The meal presentation was unappetizing to say the least. The entire meal was room temperature and not hot like I was anticipating considering we were seated right next to the kitchen and it still took a while for our food to be served. My veggie enchiladas looked like it was smothered in thick black bean juice. The Mexican rice was clumpy and the refried beans were bland. The chicken taco shell was stale and fell apart as soon as I picked it up. I tried to make the best of it and create a taco salad with the complimentary tortilla chips and jalapeño ranch dip (the best thing on the menu IMO) but sadly even the chip dip couldn’t mask the taste and disappointment of my meal. When I mentioned to the server how the taco shell was stale, she just said, “Ok I’ll take that off your bill.”

Zero offer for a replacement with a FRESH taco shell was extended or even if I wanted something else.

Odd.

Now over the whole Chuys experience and ready to pay so I can leave this establishment, our server was terribly slow and took forever to bring the check. She took even longer (15-20+ min) to collect the check and bring back the receipt.

Being fairly new to Texas I deeply regret that the dinner outing to Chuy’s was MY idea since I passed it a few times when leaving The Improv.

In closing, my meal was not up to my standards and my server, although friendly and attentive at first, dropped the ball when it came to servicing our table. This was my first and last visit to Chuys. I would not recommend this...

So the food itself was good but I had an issue overall with the restaurant. The restaurant is very cramped and we were seated near the kitchen so it felt like every few minutes, plates were being carried over our heads. Had that been the only issue, I probably wouldn't have left a bad review. After we were seated, the server brought us chips and salsa and asked us if we also wanted queso or guacamole and I said sure guac is fine. I ordered a frozen margarita and based on the menu it looked like it was $10.25, and I ordered food. The food tasted okay, but I barely ate the salsa and guac because they were kinda bland. When the bill came, I was charged over $8 for the guac and 12.25 for my drink. I asked my server why didn't they inform me that the guac (that I didn't even eat) was gonna be $8 and I was told that management doesn't allow them to tell customers the price. Then I was told the frozen marg that I ordered wasn't even on the menu and the 10.25 wasn't actually the one I received. It's a small amount, but I ended up spending $10 more than I expected and didn't even like the guac. I just feel things should have been disclosed to me, especially since it wasn't on the menu. Like seriously, who charges over 8 bucks for a small side of guac??? You can't justify charging customers prices without telling them up front. Small issue, but it left a bad enough taste in my mouth for me to leave this review and...

I absolutely loved my server! She was great! This has more so over to do with the Host.

They don’t greet you in and make you feel welcomed. I came in on Sunday, around 2ish or so and waited at the host to be helped or at least acknowledged but they just let me stand there until i finally just asked for a table for one. They seemed young, but regardless should be trained to speak to the guest walking in like they do with the white people that came in AFTER ME! They were able to get greeted, asked where they wanted to be seated, and overall actually spoke to them and treated them with a better experience. Most places I got to the HOST GREETS YOU AS YOU WALK IN. They ignored me and I just politely asked for a table for one after getting it rated at not even being greeted as a host supposed to do. Didn’t get the same treatment as the other white women walking in after me. The host were terrible, but server was great.

Will not be returning, horrible first experience just with the young hosts alone.

Server was great! The food was also really good. Sucks I won’t be able to...
