Went with a group of about 8, there were maybe 20 people there sitting outside total as it was very hot. From the start the woman behind the counter was very unfriendly and curt. We chose to sit inside at the few tables because it was really hot, and basically everyone else there left so it was just us. Then a huge storm started (with a severe thunderstorm warning in place) which caused damage to the outside tables and overhangs. Since we were already inside we stayed there to wait the storm out, and continued to buy drinks. Some water was leaking in through the door, but otherwise there didn’t seem to be any damage to the indoor area where we were sitting. We were about 8 patrons just sitting around drinking and talking, I don’t think we were being loud or rude. Then abruptly the woman told us that we had to leave within 5 minutes because they were closing due to the unsafe weather causing damage to the property outside. She said their pool Hall around the corner was open and we could go there if we wanted. We clarified that she recognized the severe weather and still expected us to leave and go outside in the dangerous weather. She said one of our friends (already en route when the storm started) arrived during the storm and “she was safe so you will be too”. Truly a bizarre experience. Kicking patrons out during a severe weather warning seems wildly inappropriate and a much higher liability than us sitting there and waiting 15 more minutes for the worst of the storm to clear. 0/10 would not...
Read moreHappiest place on earth. Ok maybe that's going a little too far, but the ppl behind Continental have always created the nicest, most chill atmosphere I can imagine. I frequented their pool hall in the pre-covid days and hope to return soon, but the beer garden has the same quality standards I've been spoiled to expect from them. Great outdoor venue nestled between the high rises of rosslyn, you'll get a little slice of peace and calm here. But once the main bar reopens, find me in the back playing games on their bigscreen, or at the pool table or shuffleboards. The continental is an institution, and you're gonna be hard pressed to find something to...

It's not even full service! // High-BMI braided hair woman walks around scowling at the customers. No thanks! // Original review: With a 22% tip added to every purchase, for all checks, we expected someone to come by to take away the empty plates and maybe offer some water. It was on a slow day with all staff behind the counter. On those days, it seems the automatic tip should be lowered or waived. // Location gets a cool breeze possibly since near the river. Why aren't there more outdoor spots this side...
