Our experience at Open Table was great from start to finish. We reserved our table online, and our table was ready upon arrival. We were brought glasses of water and a basket of popcorn to start while looking over the menu. Shrimp and Grits was amazing!!! I was not too sure about the corn that came on it, but ordered it with no changes, and it was absolutely mouth-watering. The bread pudding dessert pictured was a hit with the whole family. My husband enjoyed his shrimp tacos. My daughter ordered open table burger and it was cooked to her satisfaction. My other daughter ordered the chicken tender basket and she was not fond of the batter and brine that was used. I thought it tasted great. 😜 We did not love the hot cake with chocolate and ice cream, but that is more because it was toooo chocolatey for us. I would suggest to add sugar to sweet potato fries and not salt. I would also suggest to offer honey or make cups of buttery, honey, sugar, cinnamon combination to dip sweet potato fries. The regular french fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and softness on the inside. Loved the decor with flag on one wall, Harley in window and loved the lights. Staff was attentive, pleasant and friendly. We will be back in DC in April and hopefully will have time to return again. The area was festively decorated with Christmas trees and seating area for...
Read moreExtremely rude manager. I sat down at an outdoor table with a salad I purchased elsewhere during my lunch break. When the waitress politely explained that the area was for dining-in guests, she suggested menu options to order. Without hesitation, I happily obliged and ordered a drink and a side of French fries. As I waited for my order, an individual who seemed to be manager interrupted my lunch to say I needed to leave: reason being I was eating outside food. I explained that I had just ordered 2 items off the menu and would happily order more if needed because I preferred the seat I had over every other one in the area. He rudely reiterated I needed to leave for the same reason and continued to hover over me, not allowing me to even take 1 more bite of my salad. After a brief staredown I chose peace and decided to leave. Ironically, as I was getting up, the polite waitress was bringing me the drink I had ordered and would have paid for.
Honestly, the food looks good and the restaurant is in a good looking area. But the prices are unnecessarily high and the manager has an attitude problem.
To whom it may concern, I'd dine someplace else. Because if you pull out a snickers from your pocket at one of their tables, they might kick you out for eating...
Read moreI really love the food here, but tonight the service was lacking. I think the server had too many tables. However, the food redeemed this restaurant. I've been here three times and always get the Open Road Burger. It's juicy, flavorful, and pretty much should be the standard for all burgers. It has an onion ring on it, which some might not think of as traditional, but it really has a good char flavor in the meat and just the right toppings otherwise. The fries that come with it are plain but at least they were crispy!
The other two items I ordered were from the Happy Hour Menu. I have been here twice for happy hour, and this is one of the few restaurants that have happy hour until 7, which is great if you work until 5. I ordered the Brussels and Bleu and the BBQ Chicken Nachos. The brussel sprouts are crispy, and the balsamic contrasts well with the bleu cheese chunks. There is also some bleu cheese dressing that adds a nice creaminess and also balances out the smokiness and saltiness of the bacon. The nachos had the right ratio of toppings to chips and there was plenty of queso to give the chips just the right amount of softness. Overall the food was as good as always, but I was a little disappointed with...
