Continental Pool Lounge — Restaurant in Arlington

To the owner of Continental Pool Lounge:

Bottom line up front, I am the customer who was kicked out of your establishment on Thursday, February 23rd at around 9PM. I hope you have heard.

This is my first time ever being kicked out of anywhere in my life. I wanted to let you know that the general consensus amongst your customers that I talked to at your establishment on that Thursday night, was that the lone female bartender lacked the energy to serve your eager crowd at the bar. You can check your cameras to confirm. Can you show me one smile from her for the sake of customer service that night? She had long (seemingly frustrated) conversations over the bar phone, and generally lacked the energy and enthusiasm to serve a medium packed crowd in order to facilitate your potential revenue. I don’t know her particular circumstances on that particular night, but it was enough for me to write this review and not ever go back.

To be fair, I was told to not ever to come back…before kicked out on behalf of her directive to security. I offered to “close my tab with your establishment peacefully”, before my request was denied by the subject bartender, and I was escorted out. I was escorted out because I told the bartender before I closed out that she lacked expediency and friendliness. I call it as I see it, which offended her. Okay, fine. I peacefully complied with her request to security. Again, check your cameras on my conduct.

Your food is actually really good, but your service leaves a lot to be desired. To your potential customers, I would like to let them know there will be a significant amount of unnecessary waiting on a non-packed, non-weekend night. To you, I hope you find success beyond your similarly named neighbor, “Continental Beer Garden”, who now seems to be defunct while in a prime location. The rest of your staff performed flawlessly, including the security gentleman who escorted me out.

I will be legally disputing any “unclosed” tabs onto my card, due to the fact that I offered to close out peacefully before my request was denied. I hope that your staff’s job dissatisfaction is a product of temporary understaffing, rather than from you intentionally padding profits at the sake of your outwardly dissatisfied, and...

Hosted Private Event at Beer Garden- I reached out to Continental about hosting my partner's birthday party at their beer garden- to say that they were accommodating would be a gross understatement! I really don't think I could've have found a better location with such quality staff and wonderful prices!

They were extremely responsive in answering all of my questions and requests leading up to the party; nothing went unanswered, they sent me a straight forward contract to sign shortly after we agreed on the time and date, and they made the process virtually stress-free!

One of the employees (Nelson) set up a specific private area just for our party (which was perfect for our party size and needs) in advance of our arrival, and he immediately explained all the details/expectations to me clearly once I arrived. Our party's designated area had large outdoor heaters (which were exactly what we needed for the low-50's weather after sunset) and the backdrop of a gorgeous graffitied wall. There were loads of compliments from the other attendees as well about the food, drinks, and ambiance.

The employees behind the bar (Travis, Katie, and China (sp?) - my phone may have autocorrected her name when I typed entered wrote down her name that evening... If so, please forgive me!) were quick to make drinks and bring out food; waits at the bar were either non-existent or no more than a couple minutes at most. The bar staff were all extremely friendly, and they offered some wonderful cocktail suggestions, too.

Nelson checked in with me on multiple occasions throughout the evening to ensure everything was running smoothly, and he made the "wrap up" part of the event very quick and easy!

Continental really couldn't have provided a better place for us to hold this get-together. I will definitely be back to catch a happy hour soon, and will most certainly host another private event here!

I went there las Friday at the happy hour and it was the most disappointing experience I had . Even though I went to this place several times before. The bartender, who I think was an Asian woman had the worst attitude ever, and I don't think she has teeth because she didn't smile the whole time I was there, I mean...I was with my girlfriend and another couple (we are all from south america) and I think she didn't like that. You can tell that she hates her own life or her job, never seen a bartender with that attitude before. I don't recommend that place at all if she is there. The food was below average, the chicken sandwich was a chicken tender heated in a microwave in bread with a piece of lettuce (disappointing), and the she took the wrong order by the way, because my friend asked for 2 sandwiches and they brought only 1 for them, and it was the wrong one. It was supposed to be a relaxing night, but after that experience we decided to pay and go somewhere else to spend our money. By the way, there was another bartender (a blonde guy who was very friendly and polite) I forgot...when I ask for a pool table she told me that there was a 10 people waiting list without looking at the list even though there were 3 tables available with nobody around.
