I recently visited the new Taqueria Xochi location at Amazon headquarters and it was an amazing experience! First of all, such a cute area in Crystal City to walk around and enjoy the outdoor gardens and park Amazon has created.
When you walk into Xochi the atmosphere is vibrant and fun, with colorful decor that instantly puts you in a great mood. The chandelier makes such a statement and an insta-worthy post!
Now, let's talk about the food! The beef quesabirria is always a standout—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. I love the dip it comes with and always save it to dip all my other food items into! The chicken cemita was equally delicious, with tender chicken and all the right toppings. I always order elote esquites if it’s on a menu and this one had TAKIS! Spicy and so much yum.
The beef birria french fries were my new favorite order. Crispy fries topped with rich birria, a must-try for any foodie.
Overall, Xochi is a fantastic addition to the area. I can't wait to go back and try more from their menu!...

My wife and I live in the neighborhood and have followed the hype around the brand. have been waiting for this to open. We went during their soft open and it was underwhelming to say the least. My wife had the tongue tacos and they were pretty good. I had Beef Quesabirria which fell below what I expected, Unfortunately it was dry and clumpy and at $19 not worth it.
Also the drinks are over priced even by DC standards. The margaritas are $15 for a 9oz glass that is full of ice (I would strongly recommend to management that they either increase size or decrease price).
I know this is their soft open week and they're still growing, but we had a couple service issues as well. We ordered two margaritas one came right away but the second one did not, it finally made its way to our table when we had nearly finished our meal and only after a significant amount of asking...
Read moreThe birria tacos and consome are really good! My main complaint and the reason for giving three stars is I had more vegetables (cactus to be exact) than meat in the carne asada tacos the meat on its own was very good and tender but I only had like 3 pieces of meat which was super disappointing. Also, they don’t let you call to place an order so I did it online and in the instructions asked that they only put onions and cilantro NOTHING else! And this is what I took out of only TWO tacos again I was super disappointed especially because I spent $91. If you all aren’t going to let people place orders over the phone then at least properly read the instructions on online orders. Stop charging people so much just for veggies. The tacos would’ve been really good had they not had more...
