Update: Overall the interior still smells a little bit of the kitchen, but it's won't drive you mad, only notice. I still prefer a dedicated coffee shop over the current cafe- coffee shop- bar like setup, but I understand. The interior sitting can be set up more efficient way. As it is, it's mostly wasted. The added self-ordering cashier ipad definitely helps with your ordering process. Great coffee, ordinary food.

Amazing espresso and americano (pretty sure they don’t know how good their espresso is, especially the decaf version). And that’s the end of the positive experience. Doughnut? Bland. Not bad, just bland, not matching their price tag. Their food is even worse than their doughnut. However the worst experience comes from their kitchen smoke filling the entire cafeteria. No vent to speak of. On a regular day it disturbs your coffee fragrance. On a bad day, you can literally see the smoke when waiting for your coffee, getting the smoke all over yourself. Their staff are told to be polite, but they don’t really know how to serve the customers. One time I waited 5 mins to order because the two staff at the counter are trying to find a bag that fits the previous customers’ doughnut box. Yeah, two staff finding a bag for 5 mins. It’s a joke. You can tell from their staff that the owner emphasized a lot on customer service, but the staff being inexperienced it was translated into a rigid politeness. I will still come for the espresso, but only to stay outside when Spring comes. Best espresso in the entire area. WiFi is good, place is clean. Just need to have a vent and staff that are mentally flexible and understands customer service. Other issues like the layout of the seats (one person occupying a 4 seat table), chaos in the ordering queue and counter check out have been mentioned by others and are true. Annoying, but not as overwhelming as the kitchen smoke. At the end of the day, it’s the owners’ responsibility. Honestly I don’t see this shop survive long time, but damn the espresso is good. I had espresso at basically all coffee shops in dmv area, and this is a top 3. Filter coffee shop and the Alexandria Swings (only Alexandria) are the other two. Rare Birds at falls church is...
Read moreNever disappointed with this place. The food (and donuts) is always good. If I had to find a negative it would be finding parking. While there is paid street parking, it can still be a challenge to snag a spot, but it’s great if you’re local and within walking distance. Aside from parking, the staff are friendly, the place is clean (and very casual), and has a pretty wide selection of options. On my last trip I had the bomb pork belly sandwich, which is very flavorful, and my wife the cubano.
Solid food here. It’s great that they’re a block away from me as street parking is what most people will have to do. But if you’re close by then this place is worth walking to. Service is good, with pleasant staff. You will place your order with a cashier, but again, all of the staff are friendly and welcoming. The setting is very casual but also comfortable. They have very good doughnuts, and great sandwiches as well. My last trip I got the brisket, egg, and cheese (sorry. Could have done better with the photo) while my wife got oatmeal. My son had the grande pastrami, egg, and cheese. All three of our orders were great and worth going back for more.
Good food. Comfortable, casual environment. Pretty wide selection. Why not give it a try. My wife and I love that this place is right down the block from us so we can walk over for a quick bite. The only downside is street parking if you don’t live nearby but it’s worth trying to go. Not only are there great doughnuts, but the sandwiches, soups, and other foods are great as well. This last time I had the tomato basil soup and papas bravas, while my wife had the oatmeal (she loves it) and the fig, honey, and burrata toast.
This is a nice, relaxing place to grab a bite. The food is good. The menu is somewhat wide. The service staff are friendly. And the atmosphere is comfortable. My wife and I went there for a quick bite and enjoyed the beautiful weather while we ate. The only downside is parking, which is street. There are a few parking garages nearby to work with. My wife had the bagel and lox, and I had the tomato basil soup and home fries. Flavors...
Read moreMy husband and I have been a fan of Good Company since they opened their first location in Ballston. When we heard they were opening a second location even closer to us, we were stoked. We came here on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. The space is large and bright yet cozy. There are a few tables downstairs but they have an upstairs with additional seating.
The donut display case was amazing. Bright, fully stocked with their large variety of donuts, everything clearly labeled- it makes you feel like a little kid in a candy store (or donut shop 🤪). Now to the important part- the donuts. Their donuts are top tier. Their selection is extensive and they always feature seasonal flavors each month. When we went this time (at the end of October) we got an apple cider glazed donut, a pumpkin spiced chai cake donut, and a more traditional chocolate frosted donut with rainbow sprinkles. We loved each one. The apple cider glaze was a nice twist on the classic yeasted glazed donut, with a hint of apple cider in the glaze. Their cake donuts are heavenly, and the pumpkin spiced chai one was no different. I also love that their donuts are never overly sweet.
Other highlights and treats we enjoy are • the mini donuts and donut holes. We love a variety! • their breakfast burrito and their breakfast sandwiches. SO SO good. The pork belly bomb and Italian breakfast sammys are our fave! • their coffee is actually really good too
We still need to try out their sandwiches and salads as their lunch menu has some bomb...
