I had a horrible experience. I placed my order 1 hour ahead of time. I even called them to let them know that I was on the way. When I got there, I wasn't greeted. Everyone walked past me as if I wasn't even there. They even greeted another customer in Spanish, that came in after me, but I still waited patiently. I was really upset because I was there first. I even told the lady that greeted the other customer that I was there first and even the customer agreed. The cook/server looked surprised that I spoke Spanish and told me (in a rude voice) that the customer has a big order and that me ordering 10 pupusas was not as important as his order. I will not be eating there ever now. I asked the people at the store next door and they warned me saying I would regret...
Read moreOur first time at Maria's Pupusería. My sister and I shared platillo 4: grilled chicken breast with rice, beans, & salad; also three cheese pupusas, and one chicken tamale. Pupusas: big, soft, lots of cheese, delicious. The grilled chicken was sliced thin and grilled maybe medium-well, which is how I usually like meat cooked. Beans were good. Rice was plump and moist instead of dry and overseasoned like a lot places have. Salad: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, radish. Also a big lime wedge. Chicken tamale: large, soft, with tender chicken. Staff were friendly and fluent in Spanish and English. We got a box of alfajores, powdered cookies sandwiched with dolce de leche...
